Wallace is the secondary antagonist of the action film, Ip Man 2, the second installment in the Ip Man film series. He is a racist, corrupt Hong Kong senior police officer and protection racketeer who was the disrespectful immediate superior of Fatso.
He was portrayed by Charles Mayer.
Biography[]
Wallace first appears in an office while policeman Fatso and his friend Hung Chun-nam deliver some money from several martial arts schools, including Hung's, as part of a protection racket headed by him.
During the boxing competition, there was a demonstration by the various martial arts schools to help promote themselves and their Chinese culture. However Wallace simply allows the arrogant British boxer Taylor "The Twister" Milos to go and openly insulted the students, up to the point where Twister ends up attacking them and chaos erupts chaos as the masters try to restore order.
Thereafter Wallace witnesses Hung challenging Twister to a fight to honor the Chinese culture, which ends in disaster when Hung not only loses, but ends up being brutally beaten to death by Twister. Despite the tragic results, Wallace showed no remorse for Hung's death and even smiled while watching Twister ruthlessly pummel his opponent.
News of Hung's death rapidly spreads throughout the enraged Chinese populace, causing a scandal that spurs Wallace to hold a press conference where he lies that Hung was the one who started the fight, further falsifying that Hung's death was an accident and that he was a weakling who died after a few punches. He also witnessed Ip Man challenge Twister. After Twister ended up losing the fight, Wallace's superiors end up arresting him for corruption of power.
It's unknown what happened to Wallace after, but he may have been in jail for a long time & possibly deported.
