Walter Erick Campbell, or Lieutenant Campbell, is the secondary antagonist of Raiden V. He is voiced by Erik Scott Kimerer, who also voiced Speed-o'-Sound Sonic.
Biography[]
Lt. Campbell is a scientist for the mysterious organization SHIFT. It's revealed that had it not been for his research, Fighting Thunder and Bellwether wouldn't have existed during the battle with the crystals. However, in the passing years, he wants to use the crystals for more research rather than destroy them, as opposed to Max.
During the battle against the crystals, Campbell hires a pirate named Valbarossa Hawkeye to steal the crystals aboard the Bellwether and bring them to SHIFT. The Bellwether attacks Valbarossa's ship, and Max accuses Campbell of having stolen the crystals.
When Valbarossa's ship becomes contaminated by the crystals, Valbarossa boards the Bellwether and with her information, the Fighting Thunders launch an attack on a supposedly abandoned SHIFT facility, where Campbell is doing all his research.
When the Fighting Thunders attempt to escape the facility, Campbell's last resort is to send in three armored trains to destroy them. Eventually, Raiden succeeds in destroying the weapons before escaping. Campbell's fate after this is unknown, though it is implied he is arrested for his actions. An alternate ending reveals that he commits suicide following his arrest.
