Wanbo was a minor antagonist in the canon Star Wars novel Master & Apprentice.
A member of the Hutt species Wanbo was ostensibly in charge of the Hutt operations on the planet Teth. Not exactly being the brightest of Hutts unlike others such as Jabba, coupled with a spice addiction meant that Wanbo was little more than a figurehead. The actual power in the Teth system actually resided with Wanbo's human majordomo Thurible.
Sent by the Jedi Order to investigate the disappearance of agricultural shipments, Master Qui-Gon Jinn and Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi infiltrated Wanbo's compound where the spice addled Wanbo had his guards attack the two Jedi. Jumping on to the platform Wanbo was resting on, Qui-Gon took Wanbo hostage in order to ensure safe passage to a hanger, but found Obi-Wan being held hostage by Thurible. Qui-Gon and Thurible then struck a bargain where Wanbo and Obi-Wan were freed, and the attacks on shipments would at least temporarily stop.
