Wardogs are dangerous enemies encountered in the controversial video game Manhunt, and they are the second most powerful gang in the entire game, the first being the Cerberus. Their leader is the psychotic military soldier Ramirez.

History

Wardogs first appear in the zoo level when James Earl Cash makes his way to save his family from the Wardogs. Cash wins the fight against the dogs and saves his family from their hands. The Dogs later appears in the Darkwood district after Cash is captured by The Cerberus, Cash kills every single Wardog in the level, including Ramirez himself.

The Wardogs are skilled hunters, often setting traps or ambushes for Cash and using squad tactics to flush him out of hiding. Wardogs are just as deadly up close, hacking away at Cash with machetes. Unlike some of the other gangs, the Wardogs express genuine satisfaction in killing the runners for Starkweather's movies and treat them like trophy kills; some even talking about skinning Cash's corpse.

They can also be heard communicating with army phrases and codes. Although the Wardogs are dangerous in groups, some members lack discipline and easily lose their temper when Cash gets away, leading them to wander off in pursuit.

They are last seen firing at Cash after he kills Ramirez, escaping with the journalist to her apartment to expose Starkweather.

The few members of the Wardogs who did survive the games events would most likely have been arrested by Carcer City's new police force after Starkweather's death.

• The Wardogs are composed of: Militia, Soldiers of Fortune and sadistic Survivalists.
• Throughout the three missions they appear in, Cash kills a total of 63 Members of the Wardogs, including Ramirez himself.
• Ironically, despite being crazed veterans and skilled hunters, The Wardogs only have three confirmed kills in Manhunt. Ramirez kills a member of The Skinz to assert dominance over them and two bodies of unknown people can be found strung up and decapitated in the hotel Ramirez is killed at by Cash.
