Wario is an antagonist in the manga series Super Mario-kun. He was Mario's jealous childhood friend who hypnotized nearly everyone in Mario Land so that he could conquer it.
Biography[]
After saving Peach from Bowser, Mario returned to Mario Land where he was attacked by vegetation and Wario eventually revealed himself as the one behind it. He explained that he was jealous of Mario and that he had hypnotized almost the entire island when he was gone and took over command of Mario Land, changing the name to Wario Land. He then shoves Mario down a cliff, but he manages to use a rope to save himself and tries to punch Wario, but only ends up hurting himself. Wario then beats up Mario before leaving alongside his assistant Goomba.
