History[]
The Warlock observed his friends become foolish under the influence of love. He resolved never to be influenced by love, and so used dark magic to separate his heart from his body. He placed his heart in a casket. This caused him to become cold and sociopathic.
As he grew older, many women tried to get close to him but he rejected them all. He observed his companions having children and was glad he would never have children of his own. However, he overheard two of his lackeys comment about how the Warlock must be unable to make a woman fall in love with him, even if he wanted to.
The Warlock resolved then to take a wife who was beautiful, wealthy, and came from a renowned wizarding family. He found a maiden who fit the requirements very quickly and resolved to marry her. He tried to get close to her, using words he copied from poets. However, she saw through him and told him that she could not love him as he had no heart.
The Warlock, in order to please her, took her to the casket and showed her his heart, which had grown wild and hairy. Shocked, the maiden demanded that he return his heart to his body at once. Once he did, he became bestial and craved a true human heart. He cut the heart from the maiden's chest, killing her. He tried to use magic to replace his hairy heart with the maiden's heart, but it refused to leave his body. He took a dagger to cut the heart from his body, killing him.
