The Warlocks are the main antagonists in the comedy fantasy anime and manga series Witch Watch. They are evil witches who are disgtinuished as using dark magic, the opposite of good witches. Warlocks are former witches who have fallen on the evil side to due typically various issues, driving them to commit evil deeds.

A Witch becomes into a Warlock whenever they are overwhelmed by their own negative emotions. This includes ressentement, envy, or revenge.
History[]
Warlocks, originally just regular witches, they learned black magic. By the 16th century, the Warlocks arrived in Japan. By the end of the Tokugawa shogunate, a conflict began between The Warlocks and Witches, named the Great Mage War. The war put an end to their leader Jura for good. To prevent their return, young witches were taught to use their powers for good.
