Altan is a minor antagonist in the 2020 videogame Ghost of Tsushima, serving as the main antagonist in The Tales of Yuna. He is a warlord from the Mongol Empire who allies with the Mamushi Brothers and Black Wolf, helping them with their slavery and human trafficking.
Biography[]
During the Mongol invasion of Tsushima, Altan was assigned by Khotun Khan to terrorize Otsuna Prefecture. There, he would meet several slavers such as the Mamushi Brothers and Black Wolf, with whom he would later ally himself, aiding them in their slaving and human trafficking activities, while seeing nothing wrong with their actions, including pedophilia.
Altan would also massacre numerous innocent families and then send the children of said families to Black Wolf so he could sexually abuse them. He also stole food and medicine while also murdering anyone who opposed the Mongols or attempted to escape.
Later, Altan's actions would attract the attention of the local thief Yuna and her ally, the samurai Jin Sakai. Seeking to make Altan pay for his actions, they would begin attacking several of Altan's allies in order to send a message, including decapitating the Mamushi brothers and placing their heads on pikes to alert Altan's men, and then assassinating Black Wolf on a ship.
Jin and Yuna's actions would attract the attention of the Mongol general, who would then send his own message to the two to challenge them at a field near Kushi. After slaughtering all of the Mongols there, they would soon encounter Altan, who claims that Jin cannot judge him for his crimes, given that he murdered his own people like the Mamushi brothers and Black Wolf, completely ignoring the heinous crimes they committed. When Jin claims that they were traitors, Altan claims that it is no surprise since Ryuzo turned on him, and then begins a battle against Jin, delusionally claiming that he fights for the great peace, while Jin is a "hypocrite" for killing those struggling to survive while he does the same.
However, Jin is unfazed by Altan's words, and he kills the Mongol after a long, hard battle, then slaughters Altan's remaining men, ending his reign of terror.
Trivia[]
- Despite being a major character and the main antagonist of Yuna’s tales, his appearance is not unique and uses a generic model of a general.
