The Wasp Cameras are major antagonists in the 2003 video game The Simpsons: Hit & Run.
They are vespine surveillance cameras created by Kang and Kodos to spy on Springfield's citizens for a Rigellian reality television series.
Physical appearance[]
The Wasp Cameras a striped yellow and black. Their thorax is entirely yellow and their heads are mostly black with some yellow striping on the sides. They have light-blue camera lenses on the face of their heads, and a long, metal antenna at the top. Their stingers fire projectiles at the player.
Biography[]
After a Rigellian TV series called Foolish Humans is cancelled, Kang and Kodos utilise Wasp Cameras and deploy them in Springfield to create similar content for their own entertainment. Homer Simpson seemingly cannot discern them from regular wasps. They appear throughout the game in three different A.I. settings: passive, neutral and hostile.
When attacked, the wasps retaliate by firing projectiles at the player. In the first three levels, they shoot only one projectile. In levels 4-6, they fire three. In levels 5-7, the wasps are given protective shield barriers. In level 7 only, they fire five projectiles whilst also shielded. Bart Simpson and Apu Nahasapeemapetilon discover Kang and Kodos' plan in the Springfield Museum of Natural History, as well as their intention to spy on Springfield's citizens using the wasps.
