Watatsuki no Toyohime (綿月 豊姫) is a major antagonist of the Touhou Project franchise. She initially appeared as one of the main antagonists in Silent Sinner in Blue and latter appears in the main games as the overarching antagonist of Fossilized Wonders.
She is the princess of Lunar Capital, being the Leader of the Lunar Defense Corps alongside her younger sister Watatsuki no Yorihime. Her occupation is managing the Asama Purifying Mountain, a facility to purify information through Yuiman Asama's power. She has the ability to manipulate the sea and the mountains.
Appearance[]
Toyohime has long blonde hair and golden eyes. She wears a violet dress and white long-sleeved blouse with a loose belt. She wears a white hat when she is outside.
Personality[]
Watatsuki is a polite and affable woman, being carefree compared with her more serious sister Yorihime. However just like other Lunarians, she holds the xenophobic view towards those who come from earth, looking down upon them and treat them as lower beings.

Background[]
Toyohime and her sister Yorihime are both the pupil of Eirin Yagokoro, who used to be the Sage of the Moon. After Eirin betrayed the Lunar Capital and escaped to the earth with the former princess Kaguya Houraisan, Toyohime and Yorihime became Lunar Capital's princess, as well as the leaders of Lunar Defense Corps. It is implied that Watatsuki Sisters were the one defended the Lunar Capital during Yukari Yakumo's invasion, as Yukari specifically points out it's "the Watatsukis" whom she's delighting on taking revenge on.
At some point, Toyohime and Yorihime adopted a Moon Rabbit pet Reisen. During 1969's Apollo 11 Moon landing, people from the earth invaded the moon and stuck a flag on it, so Reisen abandoned the Lunar Capital and fled to the earth, until she is adopted by Eirin and Kaguya.
Silent Sinner In Blue[]
Yukari Yakumo orchestrates the second invasion to Lunar Capital in the name of procuring its technology to improve the life of youkai, which is learnt by Eirin Yagokoro. Eirin sent a Moon Rabbit to Lunar Capital with a letter warning the Watatsuki Sisters about Yukari's invasion. The Watatsuki Sisters adopted that Moon Rabbit and named her Reisen, the same name as as their former pet (who is currently known as Reisen Udongein Inaba). Having known about Yukari's plan, Toyohime and her sister trains the rabbit soldiers to prepare for Yukari's invasion.
When Yukari and Ran stalks into Watatsuki Sisters' house, they falls into Eirin's trap and faces Toyohime. Toyohime challanges Yukari for a battle, but Yukari immediately surrenders, so she apprehends Yukari and Ran to the Lunar Capital. After the other invaders are defeated by Yorihime, she sends them back to Gensokyo. However, Yukari already entrusted Yuyuko Saigyouji to steal the valuable items in Watatsuki's house when they are distracted by the invaders, and used the wine stolen to have a feast with the heroines in Scarlet Devil Mansion.
Fossilized Wonders[]
Due to the development of AI in outside world, stockpiles of information flowed into Asama Purifying Mountain, causing Yuiman Asama to lose her sanity and incapable of purify information, and a massive wave of impurity flowed ashore at the Lunar Capital. As the manager of Asama Purifying Mountain, Toyohime moved to resolve the incident, but putting any additional pressure on Yuiman wouldn't resolve anything, so Toyohime counts on upon Eirin Yagokoro to handle this. When Eirin sends Reimu and Marisa to resolve the incident, Toyohime comes to Sea of Tranquility to instruct the heroines to go to the pyramid and defeat Ariya Iwanaga.
