Watatsuki no Yorihime (綿月 依姫) is a one of the two main antagonists (alongside Watatsuki no Toyohime) of the Touhou Project manga Silent Sinner in Blue.
She is the princess of Lunar Capital, being the Leader of the Lunar Defense Corps alongside her older sister Watatsuki no Toyohime. Her occupation is to train the Moon Rabbit soldiers for battle. She has the ability to summon the power of the gods.
Appearance[]
Yorihime has purple hair tied into a ponytail with a yellow ribbon. She wears a dark red dress and white short-sleeved blouse with a loose belt.
Personality[]
Yorihime is very serious about her job as the protector of Lunar Capital, in contrast with her sister who is more carefree. While she looks down upon earth people like other Lunarians, she holds no malice towards them as well, fighting against invaders only out of duty. She would treat her opponents with respect, accepting Marisa's offer to settle conflict with Spell Card Battle.
History[]
Background[]
Yorihime and her sister Toyohime are both the pupil of Eirin Yagokoro, who used to be the Sage of the Moon. After Eirin betrayed the Lunar Capital and escaped to the earth with the former princess Kaguya Houraisan, Toyohime and Yorihime became Lunar Capital's princess, as well as the leaders of Lunar Defense Corps. It is implied that Watatsuki Sisters were the one defended the Lunar Capital during Yukari Yakumo's invasion, as Yukari specifically points out it's "the Watatsukis" whom she's delighting on taking revenge on.
At some point, Toyohime and Yorihime adopted a Moon Rabbit pet Reisen. During 1969's Apollo 11 Moon landing, people from the earth invaded the moon and stuck a flag on it, so Reisen abandoned the Lunar Capital and fled to the earth, until she is adopted by Eirin and Kaguya.
Silent Sinner In Blue[]
Yukari Yakumo orchestrates the second invasion to Lunar Capital in the name of procuring its technology to improve the life of youkai, which is learnt by Eirin Yagokoro. Eirin sent a Moon Rabbit to Lunar Capital with a letter warning the Watatsuki Sisters about Yukari's invasion. The Watatsuki Sisters adopted that Moon Rabbit and named her Reisen, the same name as as their former pet (who is currently known as Reisen Udongein Inaba). Having known about Yukari's plan, Yorihime and her sister trains the rabbit soldiers to prepare for Yukari's invasion.
When Remilia Scarlet leads Sakuya, Reimu, Marisa and a group of fairy maids to land Lunar Capital, Yorihime traps them with her ability. Marisa offers to settle the conflict with Spell Card Battle in order to prevent bloodshed, and Yorihime accepts the challange. Yorihime quickly comprehend how Spell Card rules worked and defeats all of them. Yorihime requests Reimu to clear her of suspected treason and sends the invaders back to Gensokyo. However, Yukari already entrusted Yuyuko Saigyouji to steal the valuable items in Watatsuki's house when they are distracted by the invaders, and used the wine stolen to have a feast with the heroines in Scarlet Devil Mansion.
