The Weather Girls were a group of three beautiful metahuman women who served as antagonists in the WB/CW TV series Smallville. They appeared as a major antagonist faction in the Season 7 episode "Fierce".
They were portrayed by Eva Marcille, Christine Chatelain, who also played Lacey Maxwell in Psych, and Elisa King.
Biography[]
Early life[]
The three girls; Carly Meadows, Tempest Drake, and Tyler Crenshaw were friends since childhood. While traveling through Smallville, they were caught in the second meteor shower that struck the town. These powers then manifested following a thunderstorm.
Carly gaining the ability to manipulate heat while her friends Tyler Crenshaw and Tempest Drake gained control over ice and wind, respectively. Before coming to Smallville, Tyler and her fellow Weather Girls had been touring the American Midwest and entering various competitions to steal valuable prizes using their powers.
Season Seven[]
The Weather Girls came to Smallville plotting to steal a treasure map that was believed to be hidden in a time capsule. With the map, it would lead to millions of dollars in gold bars. The girls entered the Miss Sweet Corn beauty pageant to hide their true motives for being in town. Tyler rudely pushed her way through the crowd to sign up for the pageant. However there was treachery among them when Carly planned to steal the money for herself before Tyler and Tempest could find it.
However, Tyler caught on to her scheme and ambushed her in a flower shop, using her power over ice to freeze the whole room and froze Carly. At the Talon, Tyler revealed to Tempest that she had no choice but to kill Carly because of her betrayal. Tempest was hurt because she was their friend. Kara Kent approached Tyler and Tempest, asking for beauty tips but was rudely turned away by them.
Upset, Kara left the Talon walking outside past the flower shop and found Carly's frozen body in the store. Tyler and Tempest rehearsed at the Talon where Jimmy Olsen was taking pictures of the contestants.
Kara spotted him and gave him a smile as he took her picture. Jimmy then saw Tyler and Tempest heading into the back room and went after them. They were talking about Carly and said that they need this pageant as a distraction so they can take the time capsule. Jimmy then snapped a photo of them and leaves.
Tempest looked at Tyler to do her thing and went to kill Jimmy by filling his car with cold air through the vents and everything including Jimmy started to freeze. Just as Jimmy passed out, Kara ripped the door of the car off its hinges, saving him but she was witnessed by Tyler.
Kara decided to quit the pageant and went backstage at the Talon to collect her things when Tyler and Tempest approached her. They tell her they know she has powers and they ask for Kara's help in getting the time capsule. They showed her a picture of the capsule and Kara recognizes a Kryptonian medallion and quickly agrees to help. The Weather Girls went to the time capsule's location and saw that Kara betrayed them and took the map for herself.
They then head off to the pageant and participated until Clark Kent arrives. Secretly, they called the police and reported Kara as the thief. As Kara was crowned Miss Sweet Corn, the sheriff comes and arrests her. In jail, Clark insists that Kara tell him where the map was, but she admits a freak gust of wind blew it away. The Weather Girls had stolen it and went to the treasure's location.
At a gas station in town, Tyler and Tempest dug the treasure up, but think that it is nothing. Clark appears and found the girls digging for the medallion in a parking lot. He tried to get it away from them, but Tempest formed a tornado, blowing kryptonite on Clark which weakens him. Kara showed up, stopped Tempest and Tyler and rescued Clark. Both girls were arrested.
