Weather Wizard is a minor antagonist in DC's Absolute Universe comic series, Absolute Flash.
He is one of the test subjects of human experimentation in Fort Fox's Project Olympus, having having the power to control the weather, mostly used for generating thunderstorms. He escapes the facility he was contained in after the teenager Wally West gains his powers in an accident at Olympus'.
Biography[]
Weather Wizard was one of the subjects for experimentation in Project Olympus, with his designation being "Project Wizard". Barry Allen was the responsible scientist for giving him powers, in unknown but implicitly traumatic processes.
After Wally West's escape from Project Olympus and Fort Fox frees the Wizard and other fellow projects, the man runs away, becoming a target for retrieval by Fort Fox. Eventually, he starts using his powers to create powerful thunderstorms in an area while delirating, apparently because of being mentally affected by experiments.
As the Rogues capture Wally West and intend to bring him back to Fort Fox amidst the Wizard's storm, Grodd goes to the eye of the storm, with Wally soon following his friend. Both encounter the Weather Wizard, who, thinking they've come to bring him back to Fort Fox, attacks them. Wally tries to calm him down and talk, explaining he also got affected by Olympus' experiments, but by mentioning Barry Allen, he ends up only angering Wizard even more, as he keeps striking him with lightning.
As they continue to fight and Grodd exclaims that using telepathy on Wizard won't be viable, Wally decides to truly fight. He allows one of the Wizard's lightning bolts hit him with no resistance, absorbing the energy, that he uses to power himself up. With a barrage of punches, Wally proceeds to beat the Weather Wizard unconscious, and he is left on the ground as Wally goes back to talk to the Rogues.
Trivia[]
Weather Wizard's name in the comics is Mark Mardon. However, he is never properly named in the Absolute Universe other than "Project: Wizard", so it is unknown if that is his name in this continuity as well.
