Wendell Blocker, better known by his business name of Orlando. He is the manager of Orlando's, a strip club that serves as a front business for drug lord Avon Barksdale.
He is portrayed by Clayton LeBouef.
Biography[]
Orlando has a close relationship with Avon Barksdale and other members of the Barksdale Organization but is forbidden by Avon to directly involve himself in the drug trade, because that could lose the club's licensing and bring too much attention to their operations. Orlando, however, due to bearing witness to Avon and Stringer's operations, becomes interested in getting in on the action of the drug trade.
Orlando approaches D'Angelo Barksdale, a crew chief for the Barksdale Organization and the nephew of Avon Barksdale, in an attempt to join him in dealing cocaine. D'Angelo, knowing he would get in trouble if he lets Orlando join in, refuses and eventually reports the incident to Avon. Once Avon gets word of it, he beats up Orlando to try and get him into line.
Avon's beating does not deter Orlando, who later tries to buy drugs to start up his own drug ring. The person he tries to buy drugs from turns out to be an undercover police officer, who promptly arrests Orlando. Orlando tries to snitch on Avon in a foolish attempt to save his own skin and perhaps also to get back at Avon. In jail, another prisoner from the Barksdale Organization recognizes Orlando and calls up his superiors to inform them of Orlando's whereabouts. Avon sends his lawyer Maurice Levy down to the jail, who Orlando assumes is going to offer him help, but he instead removes Orlando's name from the club license and mocks him for getting arrested.
Orlando is recruited by the Baltimore Police Department for a sting operation on the Barksdale Organization with Detective Kima Greggs posing as a stripper in his employ, but it goes awry and Orlando is killed in an ambush by Barksdale enforcers Wee-Bey and Little Man.
