Wendell Bender is a minor antagonist in The Fairly OddParents. He is the son of Dr. Bender. Essentially, he is an exact replica of his father.
Like his dad, he was voiced by the late Gilbert Gottfried, who also played Iago in Disney's Aladdin and Infestor in The Secret Life of Pets short film, Super Gidget.
Biography[]
His dad is describes as a menace to all Dimmsdale children, who fear having their ball land in his yard. Dr. Bender mistreats any child who attempts to retrieve an object he discovers in his yard by mocking his dental hygiene and presenting the item to his son Wendell Bender instead. In addition, he fitted his security dog with braces so that it, too, could have pearly white teeth.
In the premiere episode "The Same Game," he assumed the role of the minor antagonist and his dad derided Timmy for having protruding teeth while retrieving a lost ball from Bender's yard. When Timmy became agitated, he wished that everyone were identical. Following the fulfillment of the request, Mrs. Turner approached Dr. Bender in an attempt to retrieve Timmy's ball. When he contemptuously declined, she seized the ball and struck Dr. Bender violently, causing him to lose his teeth and a denture in the process. In retaliation, Timmy subjected his son Wendell to torment by having a pair of chomping dentures affixed to his pants. Wendell wailed in violent agony.
In “Shiny Teeth”, when Timmy, Chester, and A.J. are waiting to have their teeth treated in Dr. Bender's dentist clinic. Timmy answers Wanda's question by stating that they wanted to appear in Chip Skylark's music video for his just released hit song, My Shiny Teeth and Me. Additionally, only those with bright teeth are intended to be permitted to appear in the film. Then Timmy gets a call from Dr. Bender, who ushers him into the dimly lit dentist office. Dr. Bender is about to take out Timmy's teeth when he sits down in the chair. Timmy tells Dr. Bender that his teeth aren't perfect and shows him a picture of Chip Skylark's album, which piques his curiosity in Chip's teeth. Afterwards, Dr. Bender comes up with a plan to get Chip Skylark's teeth instead. He and his son Wendell come up with a "not so elaborate scheme" to "get medieval on Chip's mouth" by disguising themselves as ninjas, entering Chip's apartment through the roof, and yanking the teeth without alerting anyone. They are successful in their mission.
At the dentist's office, Timmy bursts in and confronts Dr. Bender and his son. After that, Timmy and Bender engage in a duel while each is armed with a different device. Timmy rushes for the teeth after beating Bender, but Bender escapes and uses a vacuum to suck Timmy up. To Bender's surprise, Timmy disappears by leaving only a quarter behind after using his Floss Lasso to snag the pillow the teeth were resting on.
He also appeared in the "Scary Godparents" Halloween episode. He had tooth fairy pajamas which Timmy thought was a costume. When Dr. Bender almost gave Timmy and his friends sugar so he can perform very painful dental work, they ran away scared. Wendell actually got annoyed by this, angrily pointing that he doesn't have any friends because of him. Later, Wanda got the idea to use Timmy's tooth to attract Wendell as a fairy so she can take his costume and turn back into a fairy so Timmy can unwish his wish.
