~ The Wendigo offering Freddy as a sacrifice to Siren Head. |
The Wendigo is the secondary antagonist of the 2022 indie horror game Sirenhead: Southpoint by Isolation Interactive, based on the creature from the Trevor Henderson Mythos.
He was voiced by Kevin Gerard and Jacob Flourde.
Biography[]
Little is known about the man in his past other than he was once a member of the town of Southpoint. The town was cursed by Siren Head, who the villagers saw as a god. As a way to satisfy its hunger, a cult called the Order was established that selected the weakest member of the town as a sacrifice. Over centuries of sacrificial rituals, only one member of the Order was left. Through unknown reasons, the cult member was cursed with immortality, transforming him into a Wendigo. With his newfound powers, the Wendigo was tasked in sacrificing people who dared to find themselves entering the woods of Southpoint.
When Freddy Anderson would enter the woods in search of his friends, the Wendigo silently observes him through his journey as he is hunted by Siren Head. After Freddy restores power to the radio tower so that he could call for help, the Wendigo reveals himself. He demands Freddy to leave at once, as "He" will become angrier the longer Freddy stays, before running off.
After it is revealed that the bridge is busted, Freddy goes off on a detour to find Officer Kirkland, who was actually a mimicked voice of Siren Head. At a crossroad, the Wendigo can be seen in the center, before running off to the left path. Should Freddy decide to follow the Wendigo, he will find himself in the remnants of Southpoint.
Upon entering the main church, the Wendigo ambushes Freddy, enraged that he ignored his warnings to leave Southpoint and decides to punish his sin by holding a ritual, offering Freddy as a sacrifice to Siren Head. Fortunately, with Freddy's knowledge that the hearts are its weak points, he shoots them all, killing Siren Head.
What happens to the Wendigo afterwards remains uncertain. As Freddy returns to his car, another Wendigo emerges from the woods and watches him drive away from Southpoint.
