Stop hand

Huh. Thing is, I'm sick of being the only skunk in town. Always getting dirty looks, people yellin' at ya, people hatin' ya 100% of the time. Nah, with you as a skunk, things won't be so bad. All that negative attention won't fall just on me. It'll fall on you, too. We'll split it, fifty-fifty, partner!
~ The Were-Skunk revealing his true nature and plan to Rigby.
YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I AM! LET'S SEE HOW YOU LIKE WHEN YOU CAN'T TURN IT OFF!
~ Were-Skunk's villainous breakdown.

Were-Skunk is the main antagonist of the episode "Skunked" of Regular Show.

He was voiced by Paul F. Tompkins.

History[]

It remains unknown as to how he became a were-skunk to begin with, but most likely he was sprayed by a were-skunk himself. He mostly likely would have sought a cure if it weren't for the transformation completed itself-which rendered him not wanting the cure.

Despite having a cabin as a house, he was sleeping on the road before, most likely because it is his preferred place to sleep on. After Mordecai and Rigby mistake him for roadkill, and he believes that Rigby was mugging him, he sprays Rigby, giving the racoon an awful stench and beginning his transformation into a were-skunk. Skunk also attacks Rigby after the latter insults him and calls him a jerk, but backs off when Mordecai threatens him with a shovel.

After his transformations caused by anger cause Rigby to; threaten and attack Mordecai (twice), insult and attack Skips, and threaten Eileen. The latter of which was the final straw for him, as Rigby locates Skunk's cabin and apologizes for calling him a jerk, pleading to tell him how to go back to normal. Skunk then reveals that he wants Rigby to be just like him to share his suffering and befriend him while being hated by other people. After being beaten, he lies to Rigby about pineapple juice being the cure to stall him so he would run out of time, with Rigby's transformation beginning to speed up.

Mordecai arrives at the house, but Skunk locks the door to prevent him from helping Rigby. However, Mordecai reveals that the true cure is tomato paste. Rigby and Skunk then engage in a brutal fight, where Skunk eventually gains the upper hand by hitting him and spraying Rigby repeatedly. Mordecai however, rams through the kitchen wall with the golf cart, destroying the kitchen and causing Skunk to tell Mordecai that he can't stop what will happen. Mordecai agrees with him but says that Rigby can, as he slides him the tomato paste.

After Rigby smashed open a can of tomato paste that splattered the entire kitchen, he and Rigby were reverted to normal, and he said "thank you" before dropping to the floor, though whether he died or fell unconscious is beyond anyone's guess. Nonetheless, Mordecai and Rigby still decided to count him as a skunk even though he's a half-human.

Trivia[]

  • In the original storyboards for the episode, the Were-Skunk would have originally been just a regular skunk that sprayed Rigby without giving him any side effects. This, in turn, causes Rigby to act like a jerk, believing that everyone was treating him differently because of the smell. After getting in a crash once he angrily drives off in the golf cart, the Skunk takes him back to his house and offers him a drink as the two start to sympathize with each other. However, the skunk then reveals that he tricked him into drinking a liquid that would turn him into a skunk as well. Fortunately, Rigby is able to reverse the effects before it is too late. While this version got green lit, it was scrapped due to it being too dark and Rigby being incredibly unlikable.
    • Additionally, the cure to stop the transformation into a skunk in this version was pineapple juice instead of tomato paste, unlike in the episode that was made where the Skunk was bluffing about it being the cure.
  • He is a parody of a Werewolf.
  • The cure for a soon-to-be were-skunk is bathing in tomato paste, which, although against popular belief, is not the cure for skunks' smell in real-life. The actual cure is a mix of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and dish soap.
  • Although his only appearance was "Skunked", he did not appear in Exit 9B. This was because he was cured and therefore cannot reappear in Exit 9B seeking revenge.
