Werewolves or wolfmen are a type of supernatural predator featured in the 2010 film The Wolfman. They are humans afflicted with lycanthropy, a curse that transforms them into savage wolf-like monsters during the nights of a full moon.

Origin[]

The origins of the werewolf curse remain largely mysterious, but it is known to have ties to India, and the Romani people harbor knowledge of the affliction.

A strange creature lurked within the caves of the Hindu Kush mountains, this creature turned out to be a feral boy afflicted with lycanthropy. It is unknown if this boy was the first of his kind or if other werewolves existed before him, but he was the one that infected Sir John Talbot with the curse after he, and his hunting companions went out to look for him after hearing stories from the locals.

Sir John returned to Tablot Hall in England, where he would eventually transform during a full moon, losing control of himself, and killing his wife during one of his nightly rampages.

Characteristics[]

Transformation and Appearance[]

With the rise of the full moon, the afflicted human suffers an agonizingly painful transformation, as their bones and muscles reshape to acquire monstrous lupine features; their bodies become taller, more muscular, and grow fur all around, their skin turns dark gray, they grow pronounced lupine snouts with wolf-like teeth, razor-sharp talons in their hands and feet, and shining yellow eyes.

Behavior[]

Once transformed, werewolves lose seemingly their human intelligence, consciousness, and personality, these having been replaced with an animalistic, feral instinct to hunt and kill. Werewolves will savagely attack nearly every living thing in sight, no matter if these are friends or loved ones. Despite this, they may retain some small degree of their human consciousness and memories while transformed, as Lawrence was able to recognize Gwen and stopped himself from attacking her for a few moments.

Powers & Abilities[]

Supernatural Strength: Werewolves are strong enough to decapitate a full-grown man with a single strike of their hands.

Supernatural Speed & Agility: Werewolves can run at incredible speeds and are even faster in their quadrupedal position.

Accelerated Healing: Lawrence's bite wounds healed at an unnatural rate in just a matter of days, as if they were never there in the first place.

Acute Senses: Werewolves possess heightened animalistic senses similar to those of wolves. Lawrence could hear a horse arriving at Talbot Hall while he was in the woods.

Claws and Teeth: Werewolves possess razor-sharp talons and teeth with which they can easily tear apart their prey.
