Wesley Moreno was a drug dealer and cold-blooded killer who was suspected of killing, Tyson Parker in the first season of In the Dark. He was portrayed by Sammy Azero.
Background[]
Wesley had been a drug dealer working for Nia Bailey for two years. He would be paired up with Tyson Parker, another dealer who was recruited at the same time as him. the two of them would be mutual friends as they deal drugs in an alleyway. In one instant the two would be talking when a woman came into their alley. Wesley noticed the woman first and pointed her out to Tyson as she came for him.
One night the two of them would be approached by an officer. She would ask Wesley and Tyson what they were doing. Wesley would tell the woman that they were just hanging out, however the woman would tell them that they were loitering. The officer would then search both Wesley and Tyson, with both of them having drugs on them they would be sent to the police station. In the station Tyson would freak out. Wesley would tell Tyson to calm down saying that worst that could happen is being in jail for a couple of months. The same officer from before would then come and tell Wesley to come with her. Wesley would be incarcerated for two months; however, Tyson didn't serve any time as he was let go by Dean Riley, a dirty detective who worked for Nia Bailey (but Wesley didn't know that). After getting out Wesley would go to confront Tyson, who was with a friend, Murphy Mason, who was blind. Upon seeing him Tyson would politely greet Wesley. However, Wesley wasn't in the mood. Wesley would voice his suspicions on how he did more time than Tyson. Tyson would tell him that it was only because he was a minor, but Wesley does not buy it. Wesley asked Tyson if he rolled on him, but Tyson tells Wesley that he didn't, Wesley didn't seem to believe Tyson and walked away.
Wesley would accompany Darnell James in questioning Tyson as they wanted to know who was the rat that got Nia arrested. The two would interrogate Tyson in a restaurant. The argument got heated ass Darnell got all up in Tyson's face but eventually they would leave. Even though, Tyson didn't say he was the snitch Wesley though he was.
Wesley would go to Arturo's Pizzeria. When he was inside the establishment, Wesley called out to Jay Crawford, another drug dealer who took some of Wesley's territory. When Crowford turned his head to Wesley's direction, Wesley would pull out his gun and shoot Crowford two times, killing him. Wesley would run but not before seeing that Tyson was also there and saw the whole thing. Darnell would assure Wesley that Tyson would tell anyone what happened. However, because Wesley already didn't trust Tyson, he would set out to kill him.
Pilot[]
Tyson would go to Dean. Tyson was going to tell Wesley about Dean so that way he wouldn't think he was a snitch, however Dean knew that if more people found out he would be caught. In a panic, Dean would strangle and then shot Tyson in the head. Dean would put Tysons body in a dumpster and hid the gun under it. Wesley would find the gun and keep it. Wesley would later hear that Tyson went to Madison (Although it was not actually Tyson but Dean).
A couple nights later Wesley would be hanging out with another drug dealer when, Tyson's friend Murphy showed up. The other dealer would tell Murphy that Tyson had not come back yet, but Murphy asks them were Darnell is much to their shock.
The Feels[]
Both Darnell and Wesley would put drugs in the food truck of Max Parish. Max is not comfortable with this and either is Wesley, asking Darnell why they need to use Max's food truck. Darnell would tell Wesley that it is because the food truck is less suspicious than anything else. Wesley would ask Darnell were they are dropping the product and Darnell would tell him that they will drop it off at an old spot. Wesley would ask Darnell why they can't just drop it off at his place. Darnell would tell Wesley because it would be dangerous for him. Wesley would insult Darnell for this, casing Darnell to storm off, but Wesley just smiles at this.
Wesley would be in Max's truck getting the drugs when he overhears Max, telling Murphy on the other end of the phone about Clover Flora a flower shop that Max says is a front. Just then Murphy would end the call with Max and as soon as it happens Darnell would come into the truck telling both Max and Wesley that they got to bounce because the cops are coming to this location. Wesley does not want to go because they still got at least half of their product out there and suggest to Darnell and Max that they can take them because they are armed. Both Max and Darnell tell him that they are not going to do that. Wesley would insult Darnell, calling him a bitch. Darnell would insult Wesley back by telling him that he even though he thinks of himself as a hot shot, he is just a small-time runner who just had a good couple of weeks. Wesley would then call Darnell an old man who just can't keep up. Darnell would make it clear to Wesley that even though he is Nia's lapdog, he is in charge now and with that Darnell tells Max to drive which he does. Wesley would be angered by this as the three men leave inside the food truck.
Wesley would come to Clover Flora, were the owner, Evan Pham. Evan would get startled seeing that Wesley had a gun. Wesley would tell Evan that he stole their spot and demands that Evan gives him his stash. Wesley would go around breaking things and would then yell at Evan to give him the stash. Wesley would then shot Evan dead. After that Wesley would check for any witness but finds nobody, however Murphy Mason was in the store hiding in the bathroom stall of the woman's restroom. Wesley would then leave the Flower shop and eventually Murphy would come out of the bathroom and later finds out about Evan's death when she feels his lifeless body. She would then call her friend, Dean Riley.
Tyson[]
Tyson Parker would be found dead by several kids and after his mother and cousin identify his body a funeral would be held for him shortly after. Wesley would attend the funeral (despite literally trying to kill Tyson).
Wesley would come to see Max to give him the drug money to put in his food truck. The two have a little dispute with Wesley telling Max to tack to the stash. Unbeknownst, to Wesley, Murphy was close by and remembered Wesley's voice as the guy who killed Evan.
The One That Got Away[]
Murphy would reveal to Darnell that Wesley killed and Evan and also tells him that she thinks Wesley also killed Tyson although Darnell does not believe that. However, Murphy, Max and Darnell would come to a conclusion that Wesley could have well killed Tyson over the Jay Crawford murder. Murphy wants to go to the police to have Wesley arrested but Darnell tells her not to because he might kill her if he is not convicted. Darnell would assure Murphy that he will deal with Wesley and leaves to talk to Nia about this theory, although Nia does not seem to believe him.
Despite, Darnell warning her, Murphy would go to the police. Needing more than just her word, they would have Murphy do a voice line put. Wesley would be brought in along with five other men. Each of them would say "I said, give me your stash" when Jules Becker told them to say it. After hearing all six of them, Murphy would tell Jules and Dean that she recognizes number three as the voice she heard, which was in fact Wesley.
Wesley would be placed in jail with his bail being at 500 grand. Nia would have one of her guys pay Wesley's bail and when he got out, he was informed of who sent him there in the first place.
Wesley would find out were Murphy is and would pose as an Uber driver to get her inside his car. Because both Murphy and her friend Chole are blind, they do not know it is him until the real Uber drive would call Murphy saying that she never showed. Wesley would then reveal himself to Murphy before taking both her and Chole's phones. Wesley would keep on driving until he stops at an empty field. Wesley would get out of the car with a gun in his hand and orders both Murphy and Chole to get out of the car which they do. Wesley would walk towards Murphy who begs Wesley to not hurt Chole as she is just a kid. Just as Wesley is about to pull the trigger, he hears police sirens. Wesley would then notice that Murphy wrote 'call 911" on the window of the care. Wesley would call Murphy a bitch as he runs into his car and drives away.
Wesley would manage to avoid the police but would be tracked by, Darnell, Max and Jess through Murphy's phone. Wesley would notice them following and would turn to a filed and stopped the car. Wesley would get out of his car and started shooting at them until he runs out of bullets. Wesley would run as both Darnell and Max give chase. Max gets to Wesley first and punches him in the face. Max would demand to know were Murphy is, but Welsey told him that he didn't know. Darnell would then hit Wesley with a rock which nocks him out cold. Wesley would then be put inside the trunk of the car which worries Jess. As Jess argues with Darnell and Max, Wesley would regain consciousness. When he did, Wessley would run away from them as the three give chase. Just as Wesley makes it to the road he is hit and then flattened by a truck.
