Whistle is the main antagonist of the Happy Tree Friends episode, "Doggone It". He was Pop and Cub's adopted dog.
Appearance[]
Whistle is a blue dog who has a lighter spot on his right eye and Mickey Mouse eyes, along with a heart-shaped nose like everyone else. When he goes insane, his left eye starts bulging.
Personality[]
Whistle appears to be a normal dog at first glance. But, whenever he hears a whistling sound (such examples of when someone makes the sound with their lips, a kettle making a whistling sound, an actual whistle itself, a bird, etc.), he would become vicious, ruthless, hostile, feral, aggressive, wrathful, sadistic, and murderous, brutally killing anybody unlucky enough to be nearby.
Biography[]
In "Doggone It", Whistle got adopted by Pop and Cub after Cub wanted a more dangerous dog. Cub started to like Whistle, and when Pop put them in Cub’s room, he started whistling, causing Whistle to go insane and maul Cub.
Pop called animal control while being attacked by Whistle and got Lumpy to control the dog. However, when Lumpy got it out of the house, it escaped and went on a killing spree, with Lumpy trying to control it, but failing multiple times. Eventually, Lumpy was attacked by Whistle but escaped by climbing a tree.
Soon, Whistle fell asleep, and when Lumpy climbed down, Lifty and Shifty had crashed when a squid that Lumpy previously captured at the start of the episode sprayed ink at the windshield of their van. The van opened and multiple dogs came out, falling on Whistle as he woke up.
Lumpy used a whistle to find the real Whistle, but when he did, all the other dogs were affected and mauled and ate Lumpy.
Trivia[]
- It was confirmed by one of the show runners of Mondomedia that Cub could've possibly survived from Whistle's wrath. [1]
- Whistle, like many other minor villains, has gotten away with his actions.
- Whistle and Fliqpy share the same mouth assets.
- He is named after and voiced by writer Ken Pontac’s dog, Whistle. Pontac himself was the voice of the Tiger General.
