White Fatalis (also known as Old Fatalis) is an Elder Dragon introduced in Monster Hunter 2. Said to be an older form of the Fatalis that levelled Schrade a thousand years ago, the White Fatalis is an unfathomably powerful monster, capable of harnessing both electricity and dragon energy. It only appears during eclipses, descending upon the ruins of old kingdoms to face whatever foolhardy challenger tries to fight it.

Physiology[]

The appearance of White Fatalis differs significantly from that of its cousins. It has a stripe of fur down the back and tail, and it is covered in glowing white scales. Compared to its contemporaries, it has a far less reptilian skull anatomy and horns that resemble antlers. Similar to Kirin, a White Fatalis's coat emits a vivid white aura. When the White Fatalis is furious, red lightning sparks envelop its chest and throat, which glow a frightening red.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Supernatural physical attributes: As a result of living for many centuries, the White Fatalis's physical attributes have been strengthened to incredible degrees, allowing it to become even more powerful than its original self. Just a swat of its tail can send hunters flying, while only Dragonators are capable of even causing it to flinch. Additionally, when at half health it will enter an "Armour Mode", making it resistant to most attacks until it's at a fifth of its health. As such, its mere presence is enough to ensure an area is completely devoid of life.
  • Flight: As it possesses a large pair of wings, the White Fatalis can fly with incredible speed and agility, quickly ascending into the sky and raining lightning on its foes.
  • Inhuman intelligence: The White Fatalis possesses an inhuman degree of intelligence just like its younger self. As such, it is incredibly sadistic and strategic, using its various moves to incapacitate and hinder hunters in battle.
  • Electrokinesis: One of the White Fatalis's signature abilities. It can issue forth lightning bolts from the sky, infuse its very body with electricity, or spit balls of lightning from its mouth. These lightning bolts are capable of splitting the earth and dealing huge amounts of damage to the hunter.
  • Dragon energy manipulation: Another of the White Fatalis's signature abilities. Most of its lightning attacks are also infused with dragon energy, allowing it to nullify the elemental abilities of hunters attacking it. Even a bite from the White Fatalis can inflict Dragonblight, displaying the sheer amount of dragon energy flowing through its body.
  • Supernatural senses: The White Fatalis's eyes are pure crystal like its younger counterpart, making its ability to see, albeit rather poorly, a mystery. Its arrival at Castle Schrade to fight the hunter could also be attributed to it sensing the presence of a challenger, though this could just be its routine of surveying its territory.
  • Supernatural regeneration and nigh-immortality: Just like its younger self, the White Fatalis seems to be capable of regenerating at incredible rates, returning with all broken body parts mended and a full health bar if repelled. Its weapons are also said to have a distinct aura of evil that drive their users to madness, implying that just like Fatalis's gear, White Fatalis's weapons are sentient. Then again, this could simply be a psychological side effect of using such a powerful monster's body parts as weapons.

Habitat[]

In extremely isolated and deserted locations like the Tower and Castle Schrade, White Fatalis has been sighted. We don't even know what kind of natural habitat it evolved in.
