wi_birdlover is the main antagonist of The Mandela Catalogue episode "Cognitohazard".
They are an alternate who lurkes around the platform BABL forums as a civilian of the state Wisconsin. They were first introduced as an affable person who helped the other user Medstudent80 (Addison) find the place to go with her younger cousins. However, as Addison talks about her grandparents, they reveal their true nature.
Biography[]
As the user from Wisconsin Addison makes a forum looking for places to go with her younger cousins, wi_birdlover is first shown recommending Addison going to Werksha Aquarium, in-door playground and children's museum with Addison thanking them for it.
Three days later, Addison then posts a message saluting about the playground she visited with her younger cousins and calling it an exciting activity for children. wi_birdlover congratulates her and asks whether she took road with bridge under construction or took backroads due to their scenic views. Addison replies by saying that she took the scenic route and asks what bridge should exactly be avoided with wi_birdlover saying that it's the road next to the old Mandela County government building. Addison and wi_birdlover then talk about Mandela County and how it became a ghost town.
They then start doing research on it only to find the Channel 3's article about Dave Lee's death at St. Gabriel's Church. They were left in shock due to this. wi_birdlover is surprised by the fact that they have never heard of Channel 3 News, warning Addison that Channel 3 News could be unreliable. Addison then finds out that this was the last article Channel 3 News has ever published and is surprised that no one talks about the news, but wi_birdlover replies arguing that it's not worth worrying much about, as people die everyday and the businesses go bankrupt more than expected with Addison reluctantly agreeing with them.
Addison then claims that she has had "the biggest pit in her stomach" after going to that article. wi_birdlover questions "why's that?", with her mentioning her grandparents and how they went missing after going on a trip to Mandela County. After much hesitation, wi_birdlover finally responds to her at night asking "you know it's okay right", with her thanking them for caring before wi_birdlover repeats the same phrase. Addison gets annoyed over this and takes it as if they're mocking her. As she tells them that she's getting off for the night, they send a mock memorial of her grandparents, revealing that they had passed away. Horrified by this sensitive information, Addison tries to contact the moderators about this, only to receive an automated message claiming that they are not online at the moment. wi_birdlover then tells Addison that "there still here and new and looking for her". Despite her pleading them to stop, wi_birdlover send a very long, blurry message filled with cognitohazard and sentences that inflicted her with Metaphysical Awareness Disorder. It's unknown whether Addison survived or died to the M.A.D attack.

- wi_birdlover's profile picture being the northern mockingbird foreshadows their identity of being an alternate, given how the mockingbirds have the ability to mimic other birds' call sounds, symbolizing of how alternates mimic human.
- Some fans speculate that wi_birdlover could have been the real person for most of the conversation with Addison before they started repeatedly saying "you know it's okay?". When Addison started talking about her grandparents, they hesitated and took 9 hours to respond to her, and when they did respond, they started to struggle to speak basic English (unnecessarily capitalizing random words, misspelling they're as there and overall using broken English grammar), which could mean that they got killed and replaced by an alternate.
- It's possible that wi_birdlover might have an ability to manifest alternates, considering wi_birdlover's message to Addison saying " still time brand new and waiting and looking for you outside of you..e house", which implies that they created alternates that are impersonating as her grandparents and sent them outside of her house.
- After Addison mentions her grandparents and how they disappeared, wi_birdlover sends a message to her "you know it's going to be okay right to be okay? you know its okay?" at 11:35 PM, referencing the quote from John 11:35 saying "Jesus wept". It's unknown whether it was intentional or just a coincidence.
