William Oland is the main antagonist of the Grim Chapel arc in Criminal Case: Mysteries of the past. He was a twist villain who helped his wife, Sylvia May, murder two people.
Biography[]
William became a suspect when a permission slip addressed to the victim for him was found on a crime scene. When questioned he said that he remembered the victim and his drunk friend and that he had warned them about The Devil. When Isaac told William that the victim was found dead in the graveyard, William assumed that the Gates of hell as opened and that The Devil has took him. He was spoken to again when Isaac and the player find out that the victim owed him money, William was naturally mad at this but said he didn't kill the victim. He was found innocent for this murder.
He then became a quasi-suspect when Madeline and the player found out that he's the devil. He admitted that he was aiding the Rochesters (particularly Horatio Rochester)'s plans and was the accomplice to two murders.
His wife, Sylvia May must revealed to be the mastermind behind two murders but William did most of the work. She said that Patricia Rochester found out about May and William and so Sylvia killed her with William spreading the news in prison that The Devil is still out there.
