Willie is the main antagonist of The Twilight Zone episode "The Dummy". He is a sentient ventriloquist dummy who plans to take Jerry's place. He is played by Cliff Robertson.
Biography[]
The episode starts off with Jerry and Willie doing a comedy show, making everybody laugh. After the show, Willie bites Jerry's hand. In the dressing room, Jerry's manager, Frank, walks in. Jerry tells Frank that his dummy is sentient and evil, but Frank says it's his alcohol problem, which he does have. When Frank leaves, Jerry to put his dummy back in the box and start new acts with his other dummy "Goofy goggles" and goes to his second act.
After the act, Jerry tells Frank that he is leaving to Kansas to get away from Willie. But while walking with goofy, he starts hearing Willie's voice talking to him, pestering him into coming back. But no matter how far Jerry runs, Willie's disembodied voice always catches up. He then sees Willie's shadow sitting on a chair. Jerry runs into a woman who works at the theater and invites her to get a drink in a nervously and eccentrically way, which caused her to run away screaming, believe Jerry was going insane. At the moment she was gone, Jerry hears Willie's voice again, and runs back inside the theater.
When Jerry arrives in his dark dressing room, he opens the chest and throws Willie throw the floor. But when he turns on the light, he realizes that he destroyed Goofy Goggles. He looks at the couch and sees Willie sitting on the couch. Willie explains to Jerry that he created his life. He gave him a voice, he taught him words and made him speak them. Willie laughs as Jerry realized he is stuck with Willie forever.
In the the final scene, it was announced that Jerry next act with his dummy, but the ventriloquist turned out to be Willie who his holding Jerry who has been turned into a ventriloquist dummy.
