Wilton J. Radcliffe is a major antagonist in the American McGee's Alice video game series. He is a major antagonist of the 2011 action-adventure horror video game Alice: Madness Returns.
He's Alice Liddell's family lawyer, and is the current possessor of Alice's family inheritance.
He is voiced by Arran Hawkins.
Background[]
Sometime after Radcliffe was born, his parents died in the Sepoy Rebellion after Foreign Office postings in Tokyo, Shanghai. Later in life he would become the Lindell families' lawyer. At one point he played Chess with a young Alice, and during this time he begun to shown great interest in her family inheritance.
Later a house fire started in the Liddell home, that killed most of the Liddell family, aside from Alice who was the sole survivor. Afterword's Radcliffe helped identified the bodies and noticed that Alice's older sister Lizzie was the only one suspiciously not burnt by the flames. Soon after Alice was put on trial as she was the primary suspect of the deaths of her family, Radcliffe represented her and helped to prove her innocence, although he believed she was innocent, he did question weather she had a bigger role in her families deaths or not. However even after the victory, Alice was still considered legally insane and she was sent to Rutledge Asylum. Between the time Alice was first admitted to Rutledge and her release, Radcliffe had gain access to her inherence.

Alice: Madness Returns[]
Around the time of Alice's release from Rutledge, Radcliffe had taken possession of Alice's stuffed rabbit, which caused her great distress. Alice later paid him a visit at his home after learning from Nan Sharpe that he was the one that took her stuffed rabbit. When Radcliffe suggested that Alice was the cause in the deaths of her family, she had a psychotic episode. When Alice awakens, it's implied that Radcliffe had left London. Radcliffe later appeared to Alice during her hallucination of Rutledge Asylum. He told her he thought of her as "unstable" and "violent", and that he isn't surprised she has been incarcerated at the asylum again.

Radcliffe is a very intelligent man who is concerned with matters that will benefit his clients for the sole reason that it will ultimately benefit him in the present and future. He's not ashamed of who is and will openly manipulate others and is only true loyalty is to himself and him alone. He shown to be far more concerned with what is right for him in particular than true notions of right and wrong, who his self centered world view. Although it's shown in his home he keeps mementos of his parents and of their lives in the Orient, showing he does care for them, which may be one of the reason for keen interests in other cultures around the world.
Appearance[]
Radcliffe is a obese elderly man. His hair is grey and has bushy eyebrows. He also sports mutton chops for facial hair, and wears glasses. In Alice's memories throughout the game his portrait depicts him in a fancy Victorian era suit. When Alice meets him in game, he's wearing a yellow robe with Chinese designs and symbols covering it. Underneath he has a white stripped pajamas on and wears a plain yellow nightcap, with brown slippers.
Trivia[]
- Nan Sharpe comments "Radcliffe paid me for a bit" before saying, "A woman alone sometimes does what she doesn't particularly feel like doing... as you know" implying that Radcliffe was one of her special visitors.
