~ Wind Crowrang to Zero. |
Wind Crowrang, known as Wind Karasting in the Japanese version, is one of the eight Maverick bosses and a minor antagonist in Mega Man X7.
He was voiced by Katsuji Mori in Japanese and Jack Merluzzi in English.
Description[]
Wind Karasting is a humanoid crow. He has wings coming rom his back and humanoid arms ending in pentadactyl hands coming from his shoulders, giving him a slight resemblance to the Dungeons & Dragons harpy aside from his crow head. He has purple armour.
His Weapon[]
Karasting is the wielder of the Wind Cutters, which are boomerangs made of air that can slice enemies. Wind Cutters come in two forms; their boomerang form is only usable by X and Axl, and homes in on the nearest enemy to their wielder's location in their normal state. When X supercharges his version, they will be fired in a ring around X's body, forming a temporary shield. Roll has her own version of the Wind Cutter summoned via the Twin Swallow Dance, which she can use when equipped with the V-Hangers, which are kunais that give her shorter reach than the Z-Saber that Zero used before his death in X5. However, Twin Swallow Dances do not return to their wielder. Vanishing Gungarun is vulnerable to both versions. Karasting uses a similar attack during his battle, with the attack itself having him throw his daggers at the enemy; the V-Hangers may also trace their roots to these daggers.
Biography[]
Crowrang is a member of the Red Alert Syndicate, controlling their air forces. He was known in the group for always attacking others at full force, but when the group starts being manipulated by Sigma he decides to play along and wait for the Hunters to challenge him, as he hoped Axl would return to their group but also because he was curious about X and Zero, wanting to know why they fascinated Sigma so much.
As an aerial boss, Crowrang spends most of the fight in the air and out of reach, using his Wind Cutters and missiles from a distance and eventually dive-bombing upon the player to slash them. His weakness is the Sniper Missile, which can track him even when he is in the background.
Trivia[]
