Char Aznable has declared Wolf Spider (2012 Marvel Animated Universe) is to be renamed to
Wolf Spider (2010 Marvel Animated Universe)
for the following reason(s): to back in 2010, not 2012

Please discuss it on the talk page for this article.
"I told you I am not Casval, I am Char Aznable."

Peter: I don't care who you think you are; attacking a spider in their own home? Big mistake, Wolfie!
Wolf: Oh, I think you care very much who I am, actually. In every universe, Peter Parker stands for heroism and responsibility... except for
one. (removes mask, revealing his face while laughing)
Peter: No!
Wolf: In my world, the name "Peter Parker" puts
fear in the hearts of everyone who hears it. Heroism and responsibility? I destroyed every fool who held such pathetic ideals! Until this shard came to my world, I thought I was the only Peter Parker. And now, with the power of the complete Siege Perilous, I will be.
~ Wolf Spider reveals his origins to Spider-Man.

Wolf Spider is the main antagonist of the Return to the Spider-Verse arc in the fourth season of the 2012 Ultimate Spider-Man series.

He is a villainous version of Peter Parker from Earth-16827.

He is voiced by Christopher Daniel Barnes, who also voiced Electro in the same series and Spider-Carnage in Spider-Man: The Animated Series.

Description

Appearance

Wolf Spider was first seen wearing a dark hooded cloak over his body and a goggled mask over his face that was hiding his true identity. As he revealed himself to Spider-Man, he wore a dark blue jumpsuit and had four robotic spider arms on his back, sharing similarities to Iron Spider. His physical appearance looks similar to that of Peter Parker, except he has darker hair, grey skin and red eyes.

Personality

Wolf Spider is a ruthless villain who doesn't really care about anyone else, not even his dimensional counterparts. He is only obsessed with getting more power and ruling worlds. He often pretends to join other villains who have shards of the Siege Perilous, only to help him further his goals. However, he appears to know when to retreat as he did so with Doc Ock Holiday and Mr. Negative. He also considers heroism and responsibility to be "pathetic" ideals and will destroy anyone who uphold them, including his counterparts. While hating all his counterparts, Wolf Spider has a strong particular hatred for the Ultimate Spider-Man, as he voiced resentment of him being the center of the multiverse.

Biography

Past

Not much is known about Wolf Spider's past, although it can be assumed that, just like the original Peter Parker, he was bitten by a radioactive spider, but decided to use his new powers for evil rather than good. According to himself, he murdered every hero in his world, including Miles Morales.

He discovered the Siege Perilous when a shard of it fell into his world. Through the device, he found there were other universes where there were several heroic versions of himself. Wolf Spider sought to use it to conquer the other spider-verses and destroy all of his good heroic counterparts.

Return to the Spider-Verse Parts 1, 2 and 3

In Return to the Spider-Verse Pt. 1, he used the shard to travel to the Vampire Universe and created a fake alliance with the Lizard King. He battled Blood Spider, Spider-Man, and Kid Arachnid in the sewers and stole the shard of the Siege Perilous. In the end, after the Lizard King was defeated and everyone was back to normal, he revealed himself to the duo and his plan. Wolf Spider tried to steal the two shards from them, but he failed and used the shard that he had to retreat to the next dimension.

During Return to the Spider-Verse Pt. 2, he doesn't physically appear, but it is mentioned by Doc Ock Holiday that Wolf Spider tried to take the shard of the Siege Perilous from him. However, he was defeated by the corrupt sheriff and forced to flee to another dimension.

He appears in Return to the Spider-Verse Pt. 3, where he travels to the Noir Universe and catches Mr. Negative and his gang's attention. He declares that he's not with the other spider people and tries to get the newly christened crime lord to join him, should hand over his shard of the Siege Perilous. However, Mr. Negative fired at him because he was sick of more spider-themed people in his world. His offer refused, Wolf dodged the blast and opened a portal to another universe to find more shards.

Return to the Spider-Verse Pt. 4

Wolf Spider later appeared in Kid Arachnid's universe at the New York police department, where he and Spider-Man had already found the next shard. Wolf Spider revealed Kid Arachnid's mother, as his captive and demanded the shard from them in exchange. Luckily, Spider-Man and Kid Arachnid freed Rio Morales from his grasp and are joined in by Gwen Stacy, the substitute for Miles during his absence in his world. During the battle, Wolf Spider removed his cloak, revealing four bio-organic spider arms on his back, which he then used to fight them on. As Kid Arachnid assaulted him, the shard he had showed him turned out to be the final piece that Wolf Spider used to guide himself. This final piece joined together to recreate the Siege Perilous. As the heroes escaped, they left Wolf Spider to the authorities, led by Captain George Stacy, but he quickly managed to elude them.

Later, when Kid Arachnid rejoiced in his dimension, Wolf Spider broke into his family apartment. As Miles asked him how he knew where he lived, Wolf Spider explained that his dimension also had a Miles Morales that he killed and promised to do the same to this Miles before knocking him out. Spider-Man called him out on his move, stating he doesn't care who Wolf thinks he is but Wolf stated he would soon. He then removed his mask, revealing his identity to them as in every universe Peter Parker is a hero, expect for one: his Universe, where Peter Parker is a villain. Wolf Spider seized the completed Siege Perilous and voiced his motives to take over the multiverse, before leaving the area.

As the trio followed him, they discovered that he left a trail of destruction behind him that leads to an underwater cave. Once they found him there, they witnessed him draining the life force from every Spider-Men in the Multiverse, causing him to grow stronger. Gwen and Kid Arachnid took Wolf Spider head on, but ended up having their powers drained from them as well.

Wolf Spider taunts Spider-Man on the fact that he can't win because he beatin every other Spider-Man. He reveals that the Siege Perilous always guided him to Peter Parker, because the Multiverse revolve around him as the center, which the latter agrees that his Aunt May always said that he was special. Wolf Spider then threatens to kill him to become the center of the multiverse, the only Peter Parker and the only Spider-Man who will remain evil.

However, Spider-Man permits Wolf Spider into claiming his life force. Spider-Man is taken to a world where the other Spider-People are and convinces them to not give up.

Believing it to have worked, Wolf Spider then suddenly sees all the Spider-People's life forces disconnecting from him and Spider-Man, Kid Arachnid and Spider-Woman's life forces also return. Wolf Spider then starts to break and Spider-Man echoes what he said about every universe where every Peter Parker is a good guy but since he is evil, he poisoned himself with their life forces. Wolf Spider then shatters apart, with his body now trapped in other dimensions he cannot escape, and all the life-forces of every Spider-Man he absorbed were restored back to all of them from their different dimensions after understanding why Spider-Man is the center of their universes. Overall, Wolf Spider is a heartless monster obsessed with getting what he wants while being the opposite of everything Spider-Man stands for. He is selfish, mean, reckless, and lacks any morals. He also wants to be the center of attention as indicated above with his overall petty reasoning for hating Ultimate Spider-Man the most.

Powers and Abilities

  • Spider Physiology: He gained spider powers after being bit by a radioactive spider, but also developed bio-organic spider legs. Thus, he is as strong as your average Spider-Man. Like every Spider-Man, he has a superhumanly enhanced agility, reflexes, equilibrium/balance, endurance, stamina, spider-sense, and wall-crawling (with both his hands and tentacles) abilities of a spider. His increased metabolism allows him to heal faster than normal, but a peak-human level. It is unknown if this attribute was also enhanced after absorbing many life-forces.
    • Superhuman Strength: He has shown the proportionate strength of a spider. After absorbing a lot of life-forces, his strength increased to the point of easily overpowering all the spiders and lifting large boulders with ease.
    • Superhuman Durability: He has the durability of an average Spider-Man. After absorbing a lot of life-forces, he was impervious to Spider-Men's physical attacks or the venom blasts. Being hit by a boulder only temporarily stunned him for a moment or so.
    • Bio-Organic Spider Arms: Unlike the other Spider-Men or your average Spider-Man, he developed organic spider legs which are both incredibly strong, fast, & resilient. They can also be used to lift heavy objects or for wall climbing. He was even able to knock out Kid Arachnid and restrain Spider-Man with his tentacles without much effort. After absorbing nearly all the Spider-Men's life forces, his tentacles strength increased to the point of throwing large boulders with ease.
  • Life-Force Absorption: While he was empowered by the Siege Perilous, he was able to absorb the life-force of any spider he found. When he absorbed a vast amount of the life-forces, he gained a extreme levels of superhuman physical attributes.
    • Camouflage: After absorbing Kid Arachnid's life-force, he gained the power of invisibility.
  • Hand-to-Hand Combat: His combat skills are strong enough to overpower Spider-Man, Kid Arachnid and Spider-Woman, of whom Spider-Man & Kid Arachnid are trained martial artists.

Weaknesses

  • Arrogance: He's always gloating about his evil, which leaves his guard down.
  • Life-force overload: His body couldn't handle the life force of heroes, thus resulting in his demise.

Trivia

  • When Wolf Spider travels to another world, he travels in a red portal, unlike Spider-Man and Kid Arachnid who traveled through a blue portal when going to other worlds.
  • This is one of the darkest incarnations of Peter Parker. Not only is he a heartless monster who lacks any of Peter's usual ideals, but he also cares only about getting as much attention as possible. He is also one of the few Spider-Man villains who went so as far as to threaten entire universes.
  • During his conversation with his good counterpart, he revealed that in his world, hearing the name "Peter Parker" puts fear in the hearts of everyone, as well as that he has destroyed every one of those who held the ideals of heroism and responsibility, so it is unknown, but very possible that he destroyed the Avengers and other kinds of powerful heroes.
