~ Wolfhound attempting to convince Kruglov

Wolfhound was one hundred percent scum, but he knew his weapons, gotta give him that. They say his favorite trick was to blow all four of his victims' limbs off and then his head - before it hit the ground.
~ Shustry about Wolfhound in Call Of Pripyat

Wolfhound is a major antagonist in the Ukrainian FPS Survival Horror video game S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow Of Chernobyl and a mentioned character in its sequel S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

Wolfhound is the vicious leader of the mercenaries, and one of the field commanders.

Personality[]

Wolfhound is a outspoken sadist. His most infamous habit, according to Shustry, was shooting a person's hands and legs, thus making them suffer before he finishes them off, it also seen when the mercs shot down Kruglov's helicopter, where he laughs at the latter's hopeless situation. Not alone that, but Wolfhound is also a Darwinistic anarchist that despises all laws, except the law of the jungle. He seems to have also a manipulative: He attempts to persuade Professor Kruglov to hand over the data, in "exchange for his life".

However, Wolfhound seems to care about his men, he warns them about Mechenyj's arrival, and encourages them to finish the job quicker, for them not to get caught by Duty.

According to Shusrty, Wolfhound was an expert in weapons.

Appearance[]

Wolfhound has two scars across his face, which is probably the reason he got the nickname "Wolfhound". He wears a typical merc suit, but without a mask. It consists of a navy blue jumpsuit, an European-pattern tactical vest, standard belt-mounted pistol holster and carrying pouch.

Biography[]

Wolfhound speaks with a slight foreign accent[1], which implies that he isn't from the a Russian-speaking country. It's unknown when, or how, but at some point Wolfhound became a mercenary and arrived at the Zone to finish contracts.

Shadow Of Chernobyl[]

The player encounters Wolfhound's men when first entering the Wild Territory, they ask Wolfhound what to do with Mechenyj, in what Wolfhound simply answers to leave "no witnesses". After Mechneyj kills the hostile mercs, Wolfhound curses and warns the others to not underestimate him. Kruglov calls a helicopter to help them out, but Wolfhound's men shots it down. Wolfhound laughs at Kruglov and tries to persuade him to hand them the data, and he will leave him alive, but Kruglov refuses, knowing that Wolfhound would kill him regardless of whether or not he has acquired the data. Kruglov calls for Mechenyj to help him out.

The player can help Kruglov, which will most likely result in Wolfhound's death, due to the difficulty to distinguish him from the rest of his men. The player can also simply wait till Kruglov is dead, and retrieve the data from the his body.

Call Of Pripyat[]

Wolfhound doesn't appear in this game, but the player can order Wolfhound's custom pistol "March" from Shursty, indicating that Wolfhound is indeed dead.

Powers & Skills[]

  1. Leadership: Wolfhound is the leader of a large mercenary group, and from what can be seen, the mercs respect him. Wolfhound is also seems to be protective over his men.
  2. Manipulation: The player can hear Wolfhound's conversion with Kruglov, where he attempts to trick the latter into giving him the data, but Kruglov didn't fell for this, implying that Wolfhound already did something like this in the past.
  3. Skilled Marksmanship: Wolfhound's most known hobby, was shooting a person's limps, before finishing them off, and all this before the named person hits the ground, which is requires an unbelievable amount of skills to achieve.
  4. Weapon Expertise: According to Shusrty, Wolfhound was a weapons enthusiast, and "knew his weapon".

Trivia[]

  • Wolfhound initially was a Freedom member, and the player could help him to take down Kruglov.
