Wolfran Row (ウルフラン・ロウ, Urufuran Rō) is a main antagonist in the manga and anime, Fairy Gone (フェアリーゴーン, Fearīgōn), alongside others like Ray Dawn and Marco Bellwood.

Biography[]

Wolfran Row is a former Fairy Soldier who once fought alongside Free Underbar during the war. Before the conflict, he was a distant and quiet man, not very social even among his comrades. The war took everything from him, including his wife and young daughter, leaving him emotionally broken and filled with resentment toward the world that caused their deaths. After the war, unable to find a reason to live in peace, he turned to terrorism, becoming part of the Eins Order, a religious cult that seeks to use fairy power to reshape the world.

Haunted by the memory of his family, Wolfran believes the world deserves to be destroyed, and he dedicates himself to helping the Order’s cause, often working with criminal groups such as the Arcame mafia. His skills as a Fairy Soldier and his bond with his fairy, Fitcher, make him a dangerous enemy. When he meets Free again, they fight as enemies rather than comrades, and Wolfran’s cold attitude hides the pain and guilt he carries inside.

Despite his actions, Wolfran is not purely evil. His hatred is born from grief, not ambition. He questions Free’s ideals, mocking his belief in peace, but deep down he envies his friend’s hope. As the conflict escalates and the Order’s true intentions are revealed, Wolfran starts to see the emptiness of his revenge. In the final battle, he helps Free fight against the greater threat, proving that some part of his humanity still remains. Though wounded and unable to move, he accepts his fate quietly, remembering his wife and daughter, and finding a small moment of peace at the end of his tragic path.

Personality[]

Wolfran Row is a quiet and distant man whose emotions rarely show on the surface. Even before the war, he preferred solitude over companionship, keeping his thoughts and feelings to himself. He carries a deep sadness that he hides behind a cold and calm demeanor. After losing his family, this quiet nature turned into bitterness and hopelessness. He stopped believing in peace, justice, or any purpose in life, seeing the world as something broken beyond repair.

He is intelligent and calculating, never acting without reason, but his choices are guided by pain rather than logic. To him, destruction feels like the only honest response to a world that took everything away from him. Despite his cruelty and the violent acts he commits, there is no joy in what he does only emptiness. He acts like a man who has already died inside.

Deep down, Wolfran still has a faint sense of morality. He despises meaningless killing and respects strong-willed people like Free, even while opposing them. When confronted with compassion or understanding, he shows moments of hesitation, suggesting that part of him still longs for redemption. In the end, Wolfran is a tragic man a soldier who lost his reason to fight, but never stopped searching for one.
