The Woodsman
The Woodsman is an antagonist in the 1988 film Waxwork.
He was portrayed by John Rhys-Davies, who also played Vasco Rodrigues in the Shōgun miniseries, Dogati in King Solomon's Mines, Wilson Fisk in The Trial of the Incredible Hulk, Macbeth in Gargoyles, Man Ray in SpongeBob SquarePants, Hades in Justice League, Viscount Mabrey in The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement and J.D. Murdoch in the Anaconda films.
History[]
The film has Tony (one of the film's main characters) entering one of the wax museum's pocket worlds, where he enters a cabin and encounters the nameless woodsman. The man referred to Tony as Jack, and warned him to leave before the full moon rises, giving the indication that he is a werewolf.
Not understanding what he had walked into, Tony simply leaves to gather firewood, while venting over his current situation, leaving the woodsman to begin his transformation. Tony chops the wood, fully unaware of the woodsman turning heel and giving a sinister expression after seeing his claws begin to protrude.
When Tony enters, he sees that the woodsman is now a werewolf, who bites Tony's arm before being encountered by a hunter and his young assistant. The assistant's attempt to distract the werewolf results in him getting ripped in half by the beast, but the hunter ends up successfully shooting and killing the werewolf.
