I don't fit in this... I can't stretch or else I break. They did this to me.
~ A note written by Woormy Charles.
We're having difficulty containing one of the stronger spirits. The dolls that we use to hold them keep stretching out and breaking and then we have to summon the spirit all over again. Theoretically the size of the vessel shouldn't matter, but it complains that it's all too small. So for now it's locked up behind an emergency containment door.
~ Log #24, written by a GL Labs assistant about Woormy.

Woormy Charles is the second guard and a major antagonist in the "Spooky's Dollhouse" DLC for Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion. He is a Husk who somehow replaced his limbs with tendrils, angrily lashing out at anyone who draws near due to the abuse that kept him tethered to the mansion.

Biography[]

Woormy Charles was, like the rest of the Husks, the soul of a child trapped within the body of a porcelain doll, used as an experiment by GL Labs in order to try and find a way to resurrect Spooky. However, the use of dolls was limiting to spirits, with one in particular constantly breaking his vessel, causing him to flee and need to be recaptured. GL Labs eventually decided to keep Woormy Charles locked up in containment. Through unknown methods, Woormy was able to shed his old body and grow a new one, a mass of worm-like tendrils that can stretch to his heart's content, with his head being the only remnant of his former form.

Woormy Charles is first seen in the storage room of the West Wing behind a gate requiring the Doll to open. At the end of the corridor is Woormy in a dormant state guarding the Winding Clock Key. Picking up the key or slashing at him with the axe wakes him up. After waking up, Woormy will roam the Northside Studies halls, but may also be encountered in the piano room and the West Wing.

In each room, Woormy will start in his dormant phase and get up instantly. He will wander around the hallways. If he spots the player, static appears around the player's screen as Woormy charges towards them. While an agile foe, Woormy attacks very slowly and only deals around a tenth of the player's health. Using the axe when his head is down will push him away. Attacking him ten times with the axe in a single location will permanently disable him.

If the player dies to Woormy Charles, his death screen shows a person being torn in half by a stretching machine accompanied with the text:

"Form within form writhes and pulses.
Skeletal sinews stretch outward from beneath the skin wrapped around it.
It pulls until the skin's elasticity fails ultimately.
From these small holes the tendrils of bone finally escape.
You are finally free of this constricted bag of flesh."

After the mansion is destroyed by putting Spooky to rest, it is unknown what happened to Woormy or the other monsters of the dollhouse. It is possible he was sent to Heaven or Hell, or if he was entirely destroyed.

Endless Mode[]

Woormy Charles was added to the Endless Mode in the 2021 Halloween Update. His starting room is based on the storage room found in the West Wing. During his chase, he will appear somewhere in the room and wander about until he spots the player. He can be stunned by striking him with the axe or sword.

Appearance[]

Woormy Charles appears as a slender creature with the head of a white doll with hollow eyes and a blank expression. His body is black with his arms and legs being red tentacles. His body is capable of extending.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Agility: Woormy is very fast when chasing the player so the player should be extremely cautious and careful when encountering him.
  • Stretching: Woormy can stretch his arms to extreme lengths and also uses this a way to kill the player.
  • Shapeshifting: Woormy can change from his inactive form into his hostile form.

Trivia[]

  • Woormy's name likely comes from his ability to extend and stretch his body, similarly to an earthworm.
  • Woormy is one of the fastest enemies in the game along with Specimen 9 and Specimen 11.
  • Woormy is one of the few specimens who is known to be capable of writing, the others being Unknown Specimen 5 and presumably Specimen 2.
