Wormwood is an evil tree who serves as the secondary antagonist of the 2002 video game Pac-Man World 2. He was given the task of spoiling the Golden Fruit by Spooky, as the fruit had kept Spooky imprisoned in the roots of Wormwood's brother: the Golden Fruit Tree.

Biography

After Pac-Man meets Wormwood in Ghost Island's bayou, the tree gives him the deadly task of finding the way through his maze (which he created) to keep Pac-Man busy so he wouldn’t make it back to Pac-Land before Spooky destroys it. After Pac-Man completes the maze, Wormwood will force him to defeat all of his skeletal minions around the swamp before the sands of time run out (Pac-Man has a certain amount of time to complete the task before he is instantly killed.) Once all skeletons are defeated and Pac-Man makes it back around to Wormwood, the flames in the tree's face burn out, killing him as a result. Before he dies, he calls out to Spooky. Spooky appears and is upset about the death of Wormwood; he declares all of Pac-Land will pay as a result before retreating to Pac-Village.

• In the GBA version of Pac-Man World 2, Pac-Man must fight Wormwood directly as a boss.
