Wraith Rod is the secondary antagonist of the Cars on the Road episode, "Lights Out". He is a ghost-like car that chases Lightning McQueen down Destiny Hotel's hallway.
He was voiced by the series creator Steve Purcell who voices Gerald and Count Spatula in Cars: The Videogame, Cars: Mater-National Championship and Cars: Race-O-Rama, Sandy Dunes in The Radiator Springs 500½ and Randy and Matt Yang King who voiced Clutch Humboldt in the same series
Appearence[]
He resembles as Haulital Hook'em and a 1983 Hookov H9 with a Hot Rod Engine.
Role[]
In the second episode, McQueen hears the sound of an engine to the hall next to him. He calls out to it only to be greeted by Wraith Rod. McQueen screams and takes off quickly as Wraith chases him down. The carpet under McQueen starts to roll up and questions what is going on. McQueen travels down the hall once again with Wraith now being right beside him with two miniature Wraith Rods laughing alongside him. McQueen pushes himself to escape Wraith only to randomly put outside and to soon enter a door falling downwards with everything McQueen saw flashing right in front of him.

- Wraith Rod looks similar to Mater. This is one of the only two times a character uses a similar design to Mater, with another one being Ivan from Cars 2.
- Wraith Rod's headlights, emergency lights, and hood are similar to Mater's.
- As well he has the the same engine like Snot Rod and Mater in his funny car mode.
