Wrath and Scorn

William and Andrew Mallory, better known like Will and Andy or Wrath and Scorn, are minor antagonists in the 2004 TV show The Batman, appearing as the main antagonists of the episode "The End of Batman". They are brothers who are actually supervillains whose parents were sent to prison and therefore they aid fellow criminals.

They were both voiced by Chris Gorham and Daryl Sabara respectfully.

Biography[]

They were first seen going cliff jumping with both Bruce and Dick after inviting them and borrowing their equipment, Bruce then shows a new grapple gun that he made and uses it to go ziplining, But Dick had developed a rivalry with Andy which caused the two of them to accidentally tangle themselves on the zipline. After, Bruce and Dick then they reveal that Will had taken the new equipment from Bruce and places it in the trunk of the car revealing their costumes.

They then appear hijacking the Joker scheme of stealing the lottery and began targeting both Batman and Robin on their bikes, but let the criminal clown get away with the lottery prize ball. Will then calls Bruce, to discuss their different schedules.

It's revealed that their parents were jewel thieves who were arrested long ago, Andy questions doing it for them since he was too young to remember their parents when they were arrested, but Will states that their parents would be proud of them both for standing up to Batman, who was everything they hated and Andy admits that his parents have that in common with him. It is further revealed the brothers became vigilantes to aid other criminals. They aided Killer Croc and the Penguin, along with Joker. The brothers soon discussed a scheme that can make the villains worth their while. Then they find Batman and Robin, who had tracked them down and they face off, but soon discover each other's true identities. Wrath and Scorn escape along with the other villains before they can be arrested.

Wrath then calls the villains noting while their plan failed, they reveal their knowledge of Batman's true identity and their plan to expose him as a way to pay them back. They break into Wayne manor and force Bruce's butler Alfred to get them into the batcave, where both the brothers square off between the father and son. They put up a good fight by forcing their enemies back and wrecking the batcave but they are ultimately defeated.

With Wrath and Scorn defeated, Batman and Robin hand them over to the police. Wrath tells Batman that if he goes to prison, he will tell everyone who he is and he will be a target forever, but he swears to never tell anyone if he lets them go, but Batman refuses to do so because it would destroy everything he is. Batman and Robin walk away and Wrath starts telling Batman that he's serious and that he's done for, Scorn nudges Robin and tells him to get ready to be famous. Batman and Robin regret that Wrath and Scorn are going to reveal their identities and at least acknowledge that it was good to be heroes while it lasted. But then, the guard who is in the police van with Wrath and Scorn reveals that he is Joker, Wrath tells him to free them, but Joker tells them that he would rather unhinge them and throws some pellets with Joker gas, Wrath tells him that he can't do it and tries to tell him who Batman is, but before he can do it, the brothers breathe the gas and Joker closes the doors, preventing them from revealing the identities of the father and son.

Batman and Robin realize what happened and when they open the doors, they discover that Wrath and Scorn have gone completely insane, Joker tells Batman that destroying him is his game and that he won't let anyone steal his fun, Joker flees with Harley Quinn and Batman and Robin go after them, knowing that thanks to the Joker no one will reveal their secret for the moment.

Trivia[]

Wrath and Scorn are the only human villains in the show who found out the Batman's identity. The only other villain who managed this same feat was the robot known as D.A.V.E..
Scorn wasn't in the comics, as he was made for the cartoon, but he did appear in the New 52 Batman comic Batman Confidential.
Scorn's voice actor, Daryl Sabara, is the real-life fraternal twin brother of Robin's voice actor, Evan Sabara.
