Wu Kong is a minor antagonist in Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness.

He is Monkey's older brother who was constantly on the run from the law.

Biography[]

When Wu Kong and Monkey were young, they use to play pranks on people especially their mother. However, unlike his brother, Wu Kong would take his pranks too far and would go down a life of crime as he grew up.

Eventually his path led to him being arrested, although he escaped and snuck into his home where he would try to steal money from his mother until Monkey tried to stop him. However, their fight led to their mother dying of a broken heart. Monkey mourned his mother's death, while Wu Kong showed no remorse of grief and escaped.

Years later, Wu Kong returned when he robbed people's shops and drew crude drawings of them which he left behind. However, the Furious five managed to take the stuff of one shop that hadn't been robbed by Wu Kong yet.

While investigating the Shirla temple, Po was beaten unconscious by Wu Kong and given a wedgie. Po remembered Monkey use to give him wedgies but believed Monkey wasn't the culprit. When the villagers chased after Monkey, believing he was responsible for the thefts, he decided to falsely confess it was him, but was torn between keeping his mother's promise or revealing the truth. Eventually, he choose the latter when Wu Kong tried to frame Po by placing stolen gold in front of him.

Eventually, Monkey discovered the culprit was in fact his long lost brother Wu Kong. He then engaged in a fight with him at a mill. When Monkey got caught in the mill and was about to be killed, Wu Kong tried to flee again, but went back to save his brother. Eventually, he got trapped as well but go Po (who regained consciousness after being knocked out by Wu Kong) saved them both.

Afterwards, Wu Kong escaped again and remained absent in the series since.

Trivia[]
