Cody also known as X-Virus, is the titular main protagonist of the Creepypasta story of the same name.
Personality[]
Before he became a killer, Cody was an outgoing, curious and social young boy. As he grows older, he becomes an introvert but extroverted to violence; he’s paranoid and has feral archetypes, including "the Berseker", "The Lurker" and "The Wanderer”. As the virus relentlessly destroys cognitive function and humanity. Infected individuals undergo a catastrophic transformation, shifting from their original altruistic.

Cody lived with his mother, who was a criminal that mostly neglected him in his life. She was too busy with her scheming to worry about him. He also never knew who his biological father was. One day a social worker arrived, took him away from his neglectful mother and brought him to an orphanage. He tried to socialize with other kids his age, but they all rejected and intimidated him. Cody would sit on a chair and wouldn't talk to anyone. At a young age, Cody felt like he wasn’t normal and that he didn’t belong anywhere.
One day he was told to pack up his things because he was going to be adopted. He was surprised someone was going to adopt a 13 years old boy because people usually prefer younger and cuter kids to teenagers. He was even more surprised when he was taken to the biggest and most luxurious mansion he had ever seen in his life.
Cody settled in his new room and some days went by before he could finally see his adoptive father. He revealed that he was the chief scientist in a big laboratory that studied the behavior of a virus. Because of his job, his adoptive father couldn't spend much time at home and to avoid staying alone again, Cody started showing interest in his adoptive father‘s investigations and even started helping him in his lab. His father then explained to Cody, how everything worked and the amazing destructive power viruses have.
Cody started keeping a work journal where he wrote down formulas and drew sketches of the virus. Helping at the lab took up a lot of his school time, and his classmates treated him as a weirdo. When he was 17 years old, he had learned so much about viruses that he decided to carry out his own experiments. Cody used rats and other animals and usually all tests ended up with their death. When the animals died, they emitted noises, a kind of suffocation as if their lungs were about to explode. Cody was excited at these incredible moments. He started wondering what sounds a human would make, but every time he talked about it with someone, he was called sick and disturbing. However Cody didn't give up. One day when he was with his father at the lab, he was left alone and took advantage of the situation by filling up a syringe with a very lethal virus.
That same night, while everyone was a sleep, Cody put on a black jacket and blue jeans and went down in the basement. He had a baseball bat and when he had found a jar with used and rusty nails, he nailed some of them into the bat, creating a simple but mortal weapon. In another drawer, he found an old gas mask and blue welder glasses.
Once Cody took it all, he went out to the darkest neighbourhood in town and chose a random house: an old and ramshackle house. He broke in and killed everyone in there, with his improved bat, except a 50 years old man. He immobilised the man and injected the virus he had stolen. He waited till it had spread through the man’s body, who didn’t complain because he was terrified. After a while, the man started groaning out loud, groans that sounded like the animals’, and suddenly fell on the floor. He was dead. Cody couldn't help but smile, he has finally lived that moment.
When Cody went back home, his father was waiting for him awake. Cody decided to tell him what he had done, hoping that as a scientist he would share his desire for investigating. Instead, his father was horrified and wanted to call the police. He looked at Cody with the same expression of disgust as his classmates. When his father grabbed the phone, Cody took that opportunity to smash his head with the bat. He left running towards the research lab, where he snuck in thanks to the accreditation he had stolen from his father, grabbed a bag, and started filling it with syringes and virus samples of all kinds. Cody had decided to escape, but before doing so, he went around that dirty neighbourhood in town to try out some of his new acquisitions. After that he needed some refuge, so he went into the woods.
After some time walking, Cody found someone. He saw a boy around his age wearing orange glasses, a muzzle covering his mouth, a gray hoodie with a dark blue hood, holding two hatchets. Cody didn't know if the boy had seen him so he hid behind a tree. But when he looked again, he wasn't there anymore. Cody then looked in another direction and suddenly he saw his face really close to him. The boy then said:
“Get out of there… I know you, you have nothing to hide”.
It didn't seem like he wanted to attack him, so he went and asked him who he was. The boy introduced himself as Toby. Cody wanted to say his name but instead something different came out of his mouth: X-Virus. Toby told Cody to go with him and as he started walking, Cody followed him. In that moment Cody realised he had found his blood brother.
