X is a major antagonist of Xenoblade Chronicles 3. She is one of the original and first Consuls.
She was voiced by Marika Kono in Japanese and Jessica Preddy in English.
Appearance[]
X resembles a pale female with red eyes and white hair with her bangs covering the right side of her face. A purple scar can be seen across her face. She also has a butterfly-shaped ornament clipped to the left of her hair, appearing to be made of a purple aura. Her helmet is shaped like an "X".
Biography[]
X was one of the original Moebius, created into the world as a Moebius to serve Z and his ambition to keep the world in a permanent state of suffering.
X first appears following J's battle with the Ouroboros at Colony Lambda, telling O and P that N had a task for them. When the other Consuls ask if it was O and P's turn to battle, X shrugs, claiming that she doesn't know whatever goes through N's mind.
Later on, when her own colony, Colony 5, reached the Gold ranking, X aided with L (who she disregards as a simple pawn) in wiping out the entire colony, spare for only four soldiers who managed to escape. The party catches up to X while she was criticizing L for killing the colony's commander Orsolya for she sought to use her in her next plan. After introducing herself, X gloats about the ranking system and how once the colonies reach the "Gold" ranking, instead of receiving their freedom, the Consuls will destroy the colony and harvest the souls of its inhabitants to restart the cycle of war once more. The party asks her why she would commit such atrocities, to which X replies that she enjoys watching people kill each other. The party furiously attacked the two, killing L, but X managed to escape, taunting them that this won't be the last time they meet.
X is next encountered during the party's attempt to raid the prison beneath Agnus Castle to rescue Ghondor. When Lanz and Sena were about to sacrifice themselves to destroy N in an Annihilation Event by overheating their Ouroboros, X arrives with a scepter granted to her by Z, allowing her to seal away the party's Blades. She also feels offended when N does not thank her for saving his life. The party is then imprisoned for a month by N so Mio would reach the end of her tenth term before she is executed in a homecoming ceremony in front of the Queen of Agnus while the others were forced to watch.
However, M swapped bodies with Mio during her initial battle to die in her place, allowing Noah's new Ouroboros form to resist X's scepter and crush it, giving the Ouroboros their powers back. Shocked, X orders N to destroy them in a second attempt to caarry out their capital punishment, but he ignores her as he refuses to follow her orders. Instead, X resorts to hijacking the Queen, using her Ferronis to shoot at the party, indirectly shooting at some of the soldiers in the process. Once the party was able to defeat her too, X makes her escape, but not before revealing the Consuls had one "last laugh", the castle's Annihilator pointed directly at the City's hidden location in Swordmarch. However, X teleported away before learning that the Annihilator hit nothing for the City was moved underground.
Following Shania Reid committing suicide after betraying the City to join Moebius, X appears to welcome Shania after her revival as Consul S. She then tempts her into getting revenge on Ghondor and replacing her. Sadly, this was Shania's first and only Moebius mission which ended in failure. If X is confronted at Colony 5 after the events at Agnus Castle, she reveals that it was her who manipulated Shania into succumbing to her envy as a way to turn against the City.
X is last encountered in Origin to prevent the Ouroboros from confronting Z, but only if Eunie's Side Story quest was completed beforehand. She transforms into her original Moebius form, but the party is able to best her. X cries out to Z that she doesn't want to die before withering away.
