Dr. Xerosic is the secondary and final antagonist of the final season of the Pokémon XY & Z anime series. He is the head scientist of Team Flare who helps Lysandre in his plan to recreate the world by exterminating the human race.

In the Japanes dub, he was voiced by Tsuguo Mogami. In the English dub, he was voiced by Abe Goldfarb.

Biography

Xerosic made his debut appearance in From A to Z!. He was first seen at Lysandre Labs, receiving information that both Mable and Celosia had failed in their missions to capture 50% Zygarde and Zygarde Core, respectively. He then informed them that Aliana and Bryony would now take on the capturing missions as well. At the end of the episode, he was seen watching the footage Bryony had sent of her encounter with 10% Zygarde together with Lysandre. He became excited over discovering that Zygarde possessed a power Team Flare had previously been unaware of.

He reappeared in Meeting at Terminus Cave!, again coordinating Team Flare's attacks on Squishy and the study of Zygarde's powers.

In In A Meeting of Two Journeys!, Xerosic traveled to a remote island with a pair of Team Flare Admins and some Team Flare Grunts. They conducted a test of a prototype weapon developed by Team Flare to utilize the energy of the Zygarde Cores and Mega Evolution. The weapon's laser, when fired, caused the trees on the island to grow wildly and begin blooming red flowers. This result pleased Xerosic, who contacted Lysandre with the news.

He reappeared in Unlocking Some Respect!, where he performed experiments on Z2 with the help of fellow Team Flare Admins and Team Flare Grunts, using the megalith that Lysandre captured back in Mega Evolution Special III.

He reappeared in Championing a Research Battle! and A Full-Strength Battle Surprise!.

In Kalos League Passion with a Certain Flare!, Xerosic, sitting in the driver's seat of a truck outside the Lumiose Gym, contacted Lysandre through a Team Flare Admin's Holo Caster. Afterward, he was seen inside the Lumiose Gym, where he and some Team Flare Grunts set up some of their equipment that they transported from the trucks that they drove in, including glass cases that held Z2 and some Zygarde Cells.

He reappeared in XY131, XY132, and XY133, overseeing Team Flare's operation and successfully capturing Squishy with the Mega Evolution energy ray.

He reappeared in XY134, where he was challenged by Clemont to a battle for the Lumiose Gym, although this only served as a distraction for Clembot to disable the Mega Evolution ray. Xerosic was defeated and, after taking notice of Clembot, was sent tumbling down a trapdoor. He was revealed to have bandages on his head on the Poké TV segment.

Reappearing in XY139, Xerosic made a sudden appearance in front of Ash and his friends when he began stealing Zygarde Cells in a forest. He explained to them that he is planning on creating Neo-Team Flare in hopes of carrying out Lysandre's wicked ambitions. And in doing so, he abducted Clemont as an act of revenge for his trap door trick during the crisis, believing that he could use his intelligence as part of his plan. As he was driving to a new spot, he turned to Clemont, who refused to ally with Xerosic. Xerosic simply stated there was no resisting, since he would use the system he controlled Zygarde with to target Clemont. Clemont wiped his glasses and was affected by the machine.

Eventually, Xerosic and Malamar, who stopped at a place to collect more Cells, were alerted of Ash-Greninja. Soon, Ash, Serena and Bonnie arrived, but Malamar fired Psycho Cut on Ash-Greninja. Xerosic took the opportunity to drive away in his vehicle, but Ash-Greninja snuck up under the vehicle.

Once far away, his vehicle transformed into an aircraft, which turned invisible. When Ash, Serena, Bonnie, and Ash-Greninja arrived into his vehicle, Xerosic ordered Clemont to seize them. However, Clemont showed he was not really brainwashed, for he had placed a microchip on the side of his head to prevent himself from being controlled. He pointed out Xerosic lost twice by using machines that harmed than helped the world. Outraged, Xerosic battled Ash and Clemont, using his Crobat and Malamar against Chespin and Greninja.

Chespin managed to launch itself with Vine Whip around Ash-Greninja to tackle Crobat. As Crobat was hurt by Water Shuriken, Xerosic tried to escape by jumping off his jet, to continue his Team Flare operations. Clemont grabbed him with his Aipom Arm and pulled him back up, ordering Xerosic to repent for his crimes and start making inventions that help people and Pokémon instead of threatening and controlling them. After the jet landed, Xerosic was arrested by Officer Jenny. He asked Clemont what was his strength that gave him hope. After being told Clemont gained experience by travelling with Ash, Serena and Bonnie, Xerosic muttered "friends" and was taken away by Jenny.

Personality

Xerosic is an sadistic, genocidal, mad scientist who is far more evil than his game counterpart, he is an delusional scientist who believes that Clemont's idea of 'scientific inventions were created to help others' is wrong, and even goes far as battling him. Even after the downfall of Team Flare after the death of Lysandre, Xerosic attempted to recreate the team by creating Neo Team Flare and an army of brainwashed soldiers, and still threatened Ash's friends by kidnapping Clemont, attempting to brainwash him (which failed due to Clemont's inventions) and when believing that Clemont is his minion, commanding him to kill his friends, including his sister Bonnie, when they infiltrated the ship for his rescue.

Physical appearance

Like his game counterpart, Xerosic is a red-haired, pale, overweight man. He wears a red suit and red shoes. He has a blue glove only on his left hand with the other in his jacket. He also wears goggles.
