Hi. This is Thesecret1070. I am an admin of this site. Edit as much as you wish, but one little thing... If you are going to edit a lot, then make yourself a user and login. Other than that, enjoy Villains Wiki!!!
The Xindi are major antagonists in the third season of Star Trek: Enterprise (originally Enterprise). They debuted in the second season finale, "The Expanse".
History[]
The Xindi were composed of six distinct races, the Primates (or Humanoids), the Arboreals (or Sloths), the Acquatics, the Reptilians, the Insectoids and the Avians. A war between the races ended when the Reptilians and Insectoids detonated a bomb that broke apart their home planet's crust. The Avians all perished with the planet, but members of the other races fled into space and formed a council to find a new home world.
The Council was manipulated by the Sphere-Builders, who they knew as Guardians. The Sphere Builders told them that humans would wipe out their homeworld at some point in the future. They neglected to mention that in fact they were the ones responsible for creating the physics defying Expanse that the Xindi inhabited, which would turn it into an area they could live in while being hostile to other races, and that the Xindi would one day join the Federation to help stop them, a future they planned to avert.
On the Sphere Builders' advice, the Xindi opted to wipe out the entire human race, starting with destroying Earth. To this end, they launched an initial attack via a probe, which fired an energy beam at Earth that killed millions of people. This led to Enterprise being despatched to the Expanse to track the Xindi down and stop them. The Xindi were working on a large scale weapon being constructed by the Xindi-Primate scientist Degra. The Reptilians advocated creating a biological weapon and, without authorisation from the rest of the Council, used the telepath Raijin to get the necessary data and attempted to deploy the weapon in Earth's past.
The Xindi tested a prototype of the weapon but it failed to work properly thanks to sabotage from the Xindi miner Gralik, who had learned of Degra's plan from Captain Archer. The prototype was stolen by Commander Shran of the Andorians and subsequently destroyed. As the Xindi prepared the final weapon at Azati Prime, Enterprise made a failed attempt to destroy it which resulted in the Xindi wrecking the ship. However, Archer managed to speak with Degra and other Primate and Arboreal councillers, planting the seed of doubt in their minds about the Sphere-Builders' intentions.
Archer was allowed to address the Council and present his evidence. However, Commander Dolim of the Reptilians remained committed to the Sphere-Builders' plan and stole the weapon, activating it and set a course for Earth. He was initially assisted by the Insectoids but destroyed their ship when they began to have doubts. The other three Xindi races struck a deal with Archer and his crew: They would help destroy the weapon in return for Enterprise destroying the spheres that were creating the Expanse. Both groups succeeded and four of the Xindi races set about reforming the council, hoping the Reptilians would eventually see the truth and join them.
