The Battlelord Mk II Prototype, better known as Xingtian, is a supporting antagonist in 2024 Red Candle Games' Metroidvania video game Nine Sols.

Biography

Xingtian and his brother Chiyou were two machines constructed as part of the Jie Clan's Battlelord Project, made to be incredibly powerful weapons of mass destruction. However, Chiyou gained sentience, and chose to become a peaceful poet. His greatest wish was to either enlighten his brother of the joys of truly living, or kill him to grant him death.

Yanlao woke Xingtian up initially to have the monster destroy Yi before he got to the Sol, but Yi decapitated Xingtain and went on to kill Yanlao. After talking with Chiyou, Yi learned that the two were brothers, and that Yi hadn't really killed Xingtian after all.

Chiyou began to make some requests from Yi, hoping to be able to get the tools he needed to end Xingtian's suffering, but he failed to do so. If Yi provided Xingtian with the tools needed, Chiyou will attempt to kill his brother, but fail, and ask Yi with his dying breath to put his brother at peace.

Yi is able to defeat Xingtian for the second and final time, reuniting the brothers in death.
