Xuanwu is a minor antagonist of the manga Record of Ragnarok Forbidden Legend - Apocalypse of The Gods, a spin-off of the manga/anime series Record of Ragnarok.
Xuanwu is a God in the Chinese Pantheon and one of the members of the Four Beasts, a group of four Gods led by Zhuque where each God represents an animal of the Chinese constellation. Xuanwu is also, along with his companions, the best assassin in the Heavens.
Appearance[]
Xuanwu is a humanoid-looking God with short bob hair and bangs. He wears a short, long-sleeved jacket with two chest pockets and turtle-shell-like patterns, a short shirt that exposes his navel, fingerless gloves, shorts held up by a buckled belt and boots.
Personality[]
Xuanwu is a very haughty and arrogant God, who will do anything to complete an assassination mission, even cheating if necessary. He seems to enjoy killing someone, doing so with a smile on his face, and obeys all the orders of his boss Zhuque. When witnessing a battle, Xuanwu focuses on appearances without understanding what lies behind the actions of a warrior. Xuanwu considers the entire Hindu Pantheon to be annoying people, yet if he has a goal he tries to achieve it even at the cost of his own life. Xuanwu knows when an opponent is too strong for him.
Biography[]
Xuanwu is a God of the Chinese Pantheon belonging to the Four Beasts, a group of four Gods led by Zhuque who are the best assassins in the Heavens, who always manage to complete their task even by cheating sometimes.
Following the proclamation of first the Ragnarok Tournament and then the Apocalypse Tournament, Zhuque is entered into the Apocalypse Tournament and Xuanwu, along with the other two members of the Four Beasts, remain in the stands to watch the matches. All watching together as Cú Chulainn and Ra-Horakhty clash, which ends with Cú Chulainn winning, a victory so surprising that Xuanwu, Qinglong and Baihu are convinced that Ra had held back, which is denied by Zhuque and pointed out by Morrígan. She reveals to the Four Beasts that she intends to kill Cú Chulainn, even outside the Apocalypse Tournament if necessary, and that if a way is not found to counteract the Gáe Bolg Cú Chulainn will win the Tournament.
When it is time for Zhuque to fight Indra in the Round of 16, Xuanwu, Qinglong and Baihu are sent to kill Indra or at least keep him out of the ring so Zhuque can win by disqualification. Indra is not afraid and faces them, managing to defeat all three without being injured. However, Xuanwu manages to hold him down until the moment of disqualification, but surprisingly Zhuque reaches them and, bringing a camera with him, decides to face Indra personally inside the arena.
Powers and Abilities[]
Overall Abilities: As a God, Xuanwu possesses physical abilities far superior to those of any ordinary Human. His body cannot be damaged by mortal weapons, however it can still be damaged by unarmed attacks from individuals with superhuman strength and Divine Weapons. For the same reason, Xuanwu is unable to die due to old age. He possesses considerable resistance, having managed to withstand several blows from Indra.
Expert Weapon User: Xuanwu uses weapons to accomplish his tasks. His primary weapon is knives, which he is very good at using, but he can also use a chain to try to restrain his opponent. However, Xuanwu was unable to defeat Indra even when supported by Qinglong and Baihu, although he still managed to hold him back for a considerable time with his chain.
Assassination Skill: Xuanwu and his companions are known as the best professional assassins in the Heavens and have never failed a mission, even if they are willing to cheat to complete it. He has a killer intent that he can suppress to avoid being located, although it doesn't work with some like Indra.

- Xuanwu, also known as the Black Tortoise, is one of the Four Beasts of the Chinese constellations together with Qinglong, the Azure Dragon, Zhuque, the Vermillion Bird, and Baihu, the White Tiger.
