Since you vermin are no longer bound by the Flame Clocks, my Moebius power sadly holds no sway over you… Ergo! At this late hour, I will bring my mind, spirit and flesh to bear and batter you all into oblivion! Come…! Come! COME!!! May the bloody sport commence!
~ Y

Y is a major antagonist of Xenoblade Chronicles 3. He is one of the original Consuls and the one behind the creation of the Flame Clocks.

He was voiced by Tetsu Inada in Japanese and Colin McFarlane in English.

Appearance[]

Y resembles a middle-aged man with light-colored hair and pale skin who has purple markings on his face. In his normal form, he dons a red suit of armor with a purple core in its chest. His mask resembles the Mechonis from Xenoblade Chronicles.

When transformed, Y resembles a red hulking monster that is thrice the size of a normal human that is reptilian in appearance with a spiked halo visible. He also has gold blades attached to his arms in this form.

Biography[]

Y was one of the original Moebius, created into the world as a Moebius to serve Z and his ambition to keep the world in a permanent state of suffering. As such, Y invented the Flame Clocks, creations that sustain the life force for those connected to a colony, only energized by killing others. As such, a mass war between the sides of Keves and Agnus ensued.

The Flame Clocks were designed to be impenetrable, but a certain group of fighters were granted special powers left behind by Queen Nia to those who could damage the Flame Clocks, becoming known as the Ouroboros. Taking measures to ensure the war kept going, Y conducted experiments on soldiers of his own colony, Colony Omega of Agnus, to be empowered by stronger Flame Clocks. During one of his tests, Y releases a poisonous mist across the colony, killing all of its inhabitants. Mio and Sena, two Agnian soldiers and future Ouroborus candidates, were the only survivors after their friend Miyabi sacrificed herself to activate an escape pod on the Colony Omega Ferronis.

After merging herself with the Consul M, Mio gets the senses that Miyabi was still alive and escorts her friends to the remains of Colony Omega, finding it still in fine condition. They are attacked by not only Miyabi, but also Cammuravi, Mwamba, and Hackt, despite the three having already died beforehand. Y appears and reveals that he revived the trio using his most powerful Flame Clock designed to immediately revive a selected amount of people without having to wait ten years, and used a special capsule to rapidly age them close to their tenth term.

Y then sends his soldiers after the party, with them able to withstand any damage due to Miyabi playing her flute to give them a will to fight. Seeing this, Mio has an idea due to her and Noah being off-seers too and play their flutes, allowing them to overcome the soldiers and snap Miyabi out of Y's control. Angered, Y decides to fight the heroes himself in his Moebius form.

After the heroes best Y in a snowfield, Noah proceeds to destroy the Flame Clock of Colony Omega, freeing its inhabitants from Y's influences. While Y does acknowledge this loss and was not a small feat, he calls this sight scintillating of a display. He then vanishes, saying he will watch in eagerness.

Later on, at the Moebius' home base inside Origin, Y confronts the heroes once more guarding the center where Z was. He greets the heroes again, having waited for them to show up for a long while, the party proceed to fight him again where he aimed another time to impede the group who want this evil scenario to end for good something he seeks to see if they can succeed at. However, the manage to best him again and he vanished in a flash of light, enabling the group to proceed into the Central Sector Passage.

Powers and Skills[]

Y as a Moebius makes use of unarmed melee attacks against his enemies by throwing punches at either them or the ground as well as grabbing them with his hands and tossing them aside. He can even slam his fists into the ground. However, he can still get toppled over in order to hinder his attacks.
