~ Yahoot's loyalty to Wily |
Yahoot (Maha Jarama in the Japanese version) is a human operator and a in the Mega Man Battle Network series. He operates MagicMan.EXE, and while he was Lord Wily's right-hand man and a high-ranking official in the WWW initially, he left the organization, having presumably fled after the events of the first game.
Mega Man Battle Network[]
Yahoot appears next to Wily in a secret WWW hideout, guarding the room where the Life Virus is located. He mostly appears in cutscenes as Wily's right-hand man, enacting his orders and relaying them to lower WWW subordinates. The protagonists reach him late into the game on their way to stop the Life Virus, though he and his navi MagicMan stand in their way. They fight and lose, at which point, Wily gives MagicMan bitdata from the Life Virus to power him up and allow him to delete MegaMan instantly. This victory is short-lived however, as Lan is able to revive MegaMan by going into 100% synchro, which gives them both the strength to operate with perfect harmony and continue the adventure. After this, Yahoot and MagicMan disappear, never to appear in the series again. It is implied that they fled to keep themselves safe.
Role in the Anime[]
As in the games, Yahoot is the right-hand man of Lord Wily, though he is fleshed out more as he is shown to be a world-famous yoga master and curry chef. This, along with his accent, raised some mild controversy over him being an Indian stereotype. After the collapse of the World Three, however, he sticks around instead of fleeing, focusing more on his curry business than any attempts at restoring the World Three. He also becomes less of a villain and more of an ally to the main protagonists, as do other World Three members after him.
