The unnamed brother of Gaku Yashiro, also known as The Killer's Brother, is the overarching antagonist of the manga and Netflix series ERASED. He is the cruel, cold-hearted older brother of Gaku Yashiro and is the one responsible for his path of becoming a serial killer and the entirety of the events as a whole.

Biography

Before Gaku's time as a serial killer, he had a brother who was rather abusive towards him and forcibly makes him his accomplice as he is tasked to keep guard of their household's shed while he proceeds to either rape or molest many girls his brother lured in. The brother would rape any girl Yashiro would lure in monthly and have his brother convince them to keep the truth to themselves, that is until the older brother unintentionally choked his recent victim to death when the mother was outside.

Upon fearing the consequences of his actions, the older brother decided to pin the blame for his murder onto his younger brother instead. However, Gaku tricked him and hanged the latter with a noose in order to make it look like he committed suicide out of guilt for his murder.

Although he died, the older brother's actions left an impact on how Gaku would become the serial killer he is today and start the events onward.

Trivia

• He was the only antagonist of the series to be absent in the anime series. This also applies to the 2016 live-action film.
• Considering his heinous actions and his cruel nature towards his brother Gaku, it was concluded to the fact that the brother is far more evil than Gaku himself and the most evilest character in ERASED due to his abuse shaping Gaku into the serial killer he is today and being the one indirectly starting the events of the series.
• Although he is considerable more hated than his brother for his vile actions, Akemi had received more hate than the brother.
