Yasmine is a supporting character of the YouTube Red/Netflix series Cobra Kai.

She initially is the popular queen in West Valley High School and cyberbullies Aisha Robinson. However, her status later is damaged by Cobra Kai students, with Aisha taking revenge by giving her a front wedgie in front of a huge crowd of her school peers. In Season 3, she returns to school as an outcast and decides to redeem herself, realizing what it feels like to be a laughingstock. She later begins a relationship with Demetri Alexopoulos.

She is portrayed by Annalisa Cochrane.

Biography[]

Season 1[]

Yasmine is the leader of a clique of popular girls at West Valley High. She takes pleasure in cyberbullying Aisha and looking down at less privileged students. One night, while driving with Moon and Sam, she accidentally collides with Johnny's parked car (outside the All Valley Sports Arena) when she is distracted while texting behind the wheel. At that point, The girls flee the scene after a drunk Johnny scares them off. Later, Yasmine kicks Sam out of her clique after Kyler begins spreading rumors about her as retaliation for dumping him upon fending off his attempt to assault her on a date.

Later in the season, Yasmine plans a birthday party at the beach, but Cobra Kai ruins her plans by hosting a party there first. While Kyler, after seeing Miguel at lake, tries to suggest that they relocate their party to another place, Yasmine tries to intimidate Aisha, only for Aisha to retaliate by giving her a front wedgie, humiliating her and driving her to flee.

Season 2[]

While Yasmine is not seen during Season 2, it is mentioned by Moon that she is in France for the summer. Aisha, who still keeps resentment and anger toward Yasmine for her actions, angrily states to Moon, that "she can stay in France'.

Season 3[]

When Yasmine returns to school, she remains antagonistic at first, and has lost her popular status and her clique dismantled due to the wedgie incident, but has repaired her friendships with Moon and Sam. She develops a crush on Demetri, and is dismayed when Hawk "accidentally" ruins Demetri's science project at lunch while presenting it.

She later takes pity on Demetri after Kyler vandalizes his cast and humiliates him, writing an innuendo-laden compliment over Kyler's doodle of a long penis, and also admits she can relate to Demetri on how being a laughingstock feels. After, she and Demetri enter into a relationship, with Sam and Miguel catching them making out in the hallway at one point. Embarrassed, Yasmine tries to deny her kiss with Demetri (even though it's pretty obvious) before hastily walking away.

Season 4[]

Yasmine now shows she's developed a deep affection for Demetri, and doesn't mind kissing him in public or getting sexually flirtatious with him by grabbing his butt in front of their friends (as she's shown to have grown out of caring what others think about her after seeing Demetri for the great person he is). She does tell him that she can't make it to prom or the All Valley Tournament because she had to go to a family wedding at Sydney. However, she decides to go to prom as his partner to surprise him. She then goes to the after-party with Demetri hosted by Stingray at Stingray's sister's house, to which the couple goes off to explore the house.

Season 5[]

Yasmine goes to brunch with Moon and Sam and then to a spa day with the girls. She does this all to help Sam find balance in her life in regards to her relationship status.

They later go to a waterpark to sunbathe and relax. Anthony LaRusso, Sam's brother, begins to stare at them wearing their swimsuits much to the annoyance of Sam, which they both stare back at him causing him to leave. Yasmine suggests they start to "torture" Anthony once he goes to high school, which still disgusted Sam as she didn't want to be a part of it. As Hawk and Miguel join them, Yasmine begins to wonder if she's alive or if she just died of embarassment and it was her own hell before continuing to sunbathe. However, following a feud between the Cobra Kais, Miyagi-Do's, and Eagle Fang's at the waterpark, they were forced to leave.

Personality[]

At first, Yasmine is the popular student in the West Valley High, and is considered the Queen of her school. She is a very cruel, sadistic, mean, egotistical, shallow and arrogant bully that enjoys bullying students of lower status than her, especially Aisha Robinson and can be seen as bad as Kyler; during the Halloween dance at the school, Yasmine cyberbullies Aisha posting a cruel pig meme of her eating Cheetos during the dance, causing several people to mock her and hurt Aisha. Her bullying towards Aisha eventually led the latter to joining Cobra Kai to defend herself, and eventually getting revenge on Yasmine by giving her a front wedgie in front of a large crowd of schoolmates, humiliating her.

In Season 3, Yasmine initially shows her antagonistic attitude; however, her popularity is ruined thanks to the wedgie incident, which the other students make fun of her about. After being partnered with Demetri on a school project, her harsh attitude begins to soften. Later, Yasmine is unhappy when Kyler bullies Demetri, because the incident she suffered at the lake made her realize how being a laughingstock feels. Yasmine doesn't bully anyone throughout Season 3, indicating she has become a better person.

Despite exhibiting bullying behavior similar to Kyler, Yasmine actually learns her lesson and decides to put her bullying to rest during Season 3; at the start of Season 4, she begins a romantic relationship with Demetri, whom she'd previously bullied during the first season of Cobra Kai.

In Season 5, she still continues being nice. However, she is still smug and flirtatious when she caught Anthony staring at her along with Moon wearing their bikinis, to the point that she wants to take an interest in him by "torturing" him once he goes to high school.

Trivia[]

  • Yasmine is the first female antagonist in the entire Karate Kid franchise.
  • Interestingly enough, Yasmine and Aisha indirectly helped each other: Yasmine's bullying of Aisha led the latter to join Cobra Kai to gain the strength needed to defend herself and become more confident, while Aisha's lesson to Yasmine with the wedgie gave her some humility and taught her to be a more pleasant and empathetic person.
  • She is similar to Regina George in Mean Girls. Both girls had a chance to redeem themselves.
