The Yokai are supernatural monsters created by the Kibaoni Army Corps and major antagonists in Shuriken Sentai Ninninger.
They are created from infusing the darkness of one of the 48 Sealing Shuriken into an inanimate object. Their purpose is to gather the "Power of Fear" from humans so it can be used to revive the Kibaoni Army's leader, Gengetsu Kibaoni.
History[]
After the Kibaoni Army Corps reemerged in the modern day, they set out to gather enough darkness to revive Gengetsu Kibaoni, who had been sealed using the 48 Sealing Shurikens in the past. Using each of the 48 Sealing Shurikens, which had been corrupted by the darkness of Gengetsu, Kyuemon Izayoi was able to infuse them into objects to create the Yokai. The purpose of the Yokai was to terrorize humans to gather the "Power of Fear" from humans so it could be used to fully revive Gengetsu.
The first Yokai to be created was Yokai Kamaitachi, who was created from embedding a Sealing Shuriken into a discarded chainsaw.
