Yokai Yuki-Onna was a shaved ice maker-themed Yokai serving the Kibaoni Army Corps. She served as a minor antagonist in Shuriken Sentai Ninninger, being the main antagonist of the 23rd episode and a minor antagonist in the 47th and final episode.
She was voiced by Kimiko Saitō.
Biography[]
Yokai Yuki-Onna is reated by Kyuemon Izayoi infecting a shaved ice maker with a Sealing Shuriken. Created under a dome that blocks the Gama Gama Guns from detecting the Youkai, Yuki-onna is tasked with a mission to freeze the Ninningers and render them helpless. She manages to freeze most of the team in blocks of ice except for Nagi as he produces an illusion of both of them in a hot desert as he taunts her. However, the illusion eventually fads away and Nagi is about to give up until he gets a response from Kasumi who dodged Yuki-Onna's attack using a substitution technique. After that, both Kasumi and Nagi use the flaming technique to set Yuki-Onna on fire and melt the ice on their teammate. Both the heroes and Yuki-Onna later arrive at a school where Nagi uses a illusion where Yuki-Onna is on a barbecue grill and defeats her. However, Kyuemon enlarges Yuki-Onna so the team to bring out Lion Ha-Oh, Shurikenjin Drago, and Bison King to battle her. However, she uses her ability to freeze them in place but Nagi has an idea and they manage to form Ha-Oh Shurikenjin even after being frozen into a snowman. They ram Yuki-Onna, shattering the ice and allowing them to kill her with the Ha-Oh Splendid Buster.
Youkai Yuki-Onna is among the ten Yokai who appear alongside Kyuemon and the Western Yokai Wolf Man to Kinji in his vision after he is transformed into a reincarnation of the Wolf Man, all bearing his face. When Kinji overcomes his fear and doubt, and thus his Yokai side, he uses the Demon Sword Urasame to vanquish all the illusionary Yokai and return to the real world.
Yuki-Onna's likeness appears among a set of Yokai karuta cards assembled by Shurikenger for the Ninningers to analyze the Yokai they have defeated so far. Through the power of Yokai Fudagaeshi, Kasumi, having been made to accidentally pick the wrong card, is sent to a pocket dimension within Yuki-Onna's card, where she is forced to face her again. She is aided by Takaharu who follows her to the pocket dimension by deliberately picking the wrong card. Together, they destroy Yuki-Onna with their combined Transcendent Summer Shuriken Strike attack and thus freeing them from the karuta card.
Youkai Yuki-Onna is later among the five Youkai (herself, Yokai Yamawarawa, Super Advanced Yokai Shuten-Douji, Yokai Kasha and Yokai Mataneko) resurrected as giants by Kyuemon when he uses the End Shuriken to begin reshaping the world. Although the effect also de-powers the Ninningers, Fuuka and Nagi fight on regardless and manage to easily slay the Yokai.
