Yolanda Saldívar is the main antagonist in the film Selena, based on the true story of the late Selena Quintanilla-Pérez.
She was portrayed by the late Lupe Ontiveros.
Yolanda Saldívar was the president of Selena's fan club and was eventually hired by her to manage her clothing boutique. However, behind Selena's back, she had been stealing money from the fan club using forged checks. Selena and her father discover this and confront her about it, asking her how she could do this to both her and her fans. Yolanda admits that she had a problem with a doctor she worked with, denies such claims and says she would never steal from her. She then pleads for time to return the boutique's financial records and claims she can prove that she has done nothing wrong.
However, on March 31, 1995, Selena and Yolanda have another argument over the missing financial documents. After such argument, Yolanda later murders her at a Corpus Christi Motel. She is then arrested after a nine-and-a-half-hour standoff with the police and expresses remorse over having killed her.
