Youkai Doubler (ヨウカイダブラー Youkai Daburā) is a minor antagonist of Uchuu Keiji Gavan who appears in episode 40. It is an ochimusa-like Doubler who capture and kidnap many people and brings them to Makuu into having them enslaved into mining for devilunium in order for them to create a large hydrogen bomb and then conquer the entire universe.
It is voiced by late Eisuke Yoda, who also voiced Volcano Mask General Magman in Himitsu Sentai Gorenger, Shine in J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai, Führer Taboo in Dai Sentai Goggle V, and Lu-Long, Parchis, Demost and Silver Shark in Sekai Ninja Sen Jiraiya. In its human disguise, it was portrayed by Yumi Uemura as a hot dog stand owner and Jun Tanabe as Shiro Sasaki.
Biography[]
When Dr. Shimizu encountered its hot dog stand after having tired of mountain hiking, the Youkai Doubler turn itself back to normal and attacked him unconcious before taking away his box of devilunium to prevent anyone from learning its secrets. Not only Dr. Shimizu, but several hunters and mountain hikers were also captured and kidnapped by the Doubler as well and to have them enslaved into mining for devilunium in the Onikobe Limestone Caverns for Makuu so they could use them all to create a large hydrogen bomb for them to conquer the entire universe.
While Retsu and Kojiro's younger cousin Shiro Sasaki are hiking to investigate the disappearance of several people hiking at Mt. Oniga, they later encountered the Doubler's hot dog stand where they ordered for hot dogs and orange juice. When Shiro was about to drink an orange juice, Retsu managed to saved him from getting killed by throwing his juice away on the ground, revealing it to be an dissolving acid. After revealing its true form, the Doubler went to attack Retsu by telekinetically dragging his body until he transformed into Gavan. While fighting, it later retreats by kidnapping Shiro with it before leaving Gavan blowing up on the ground in front of him.
When Retsu discovered many people (including Dr. Shimizu) were being enslaved into mining for devilunium, the Doubler disguised itself as Shiro Sasaki and then take advantage of his kindness by pretending that its injured to have him carrying it, but later revealed its true nature by almost choking him to death. After escaping from the Doubler's grasp, Retsu then transformed into Gavan and fought against it. Seeing that Shiro is being held hostage by Makuu, Gavan went down to save him and order him to evacuate many enslaved people to escape. After they're dragged into Makuu Space, Gavan is struggled to fight against the Doubler before he had to call upon Dol for a backup when it leads the fighters into firing at him. While fighting, the Doubler attempt to hide away from Gavan by turning invisible, but Gavan managed to find it with Laser Scope before firing Laser Z Beam at it. Gavan later call upon Gravion to fire at the Doubler before finally finishing it off with Gavan Dynamic.
