Biography[]
A lone prospector travels through the US hills amid the Gold Rush. He begins panning for gold, and finds fragments which indicate a rich ore is nearby. The prospector tirelessly begins digging to little avail, before coming up with a plan that would help locate the ore's vein. Eventually, the prospector strikes gold with his shovel and unearths an enormous wad of it.
A shadow blocks out the sun, which the prospector immediately realises he and his gold have been discovered. The scared prospector is shot in the back by the young man who is revealed to have been spying on him, allowing him to do the manual labour and steal the gold from his efforts. The young man enters the prospector's hole and begins to collect his bounty, but the prospector is revealed to have cleverly feigned his death and shoots the young man to death and reclaims the fruits of his labour. The prospector then buries the young man's corpse and leaves in glee.
